Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

This "policy" was a total waste of MONEY and time. I have paid for this since 2015, never made a previous claim. My water heater is DEAD and they refuse to replace it! I told the claims rep when I called that there was water coming from the bottom of the water heater and onto the floor. I waited all night and morning for Choice to contact me about a technician. I HAD TO CALL BACK TO THEM myself, to be told that leaking water heaters are NOT COVERED. I have CANCELLED the "policy" and if you're smart you will too. TERRIBLE that they say equipment is covered and then when you need their help it's REFUSED.

At the beginning, I chose Choice Home Warranty for a peace of mind, also because their rate is the cheapest. Now I know there is a reason that their rate is “cheapest”, and I have made a big mistake. Two months after I ordered the plan, one day I found my refrigerator stopped cooling, and I called CHW for an inspection. Technician came and detected condenser fan blade and control board problem, charged service fee and said would come back to repair after one week. when someone calls for service, they should not have to wait for any period of time. you also do not stand by your contracts. you try not to fulfill any problems that might be costly. this is my 2nd poor experience

Terrible customer service. Customer service wait time are long. They do not look at your account to see whats happening before discussing an existing claim. Contractors do not show up. I'm selecting a new company

I have had choice home warranty for two years and the fist time I called , the customer service was terrible. the supervisor told me he didn't have feelings and did not care if the problem got fix or not. It's sad that I paid these whole two years and got treated this was.
