Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

The service by Choice was very good. It was the A/C technicians that was the problem. The 1st one never came. There was no AC for 10 days after repeated promised to come out. I finally had to hire someone else, which cost me $330 out of pocket. On a recent call, the tech came out and addressed 1 of the 2 AC units. He told the tenants that he was only authorized to fix one. I called Choice, and they in turn called him and he said that he checked the AC unit and it was working. It was not working and producing cold air. The tech was not truthful to the company. Now it has been 6 days and there is still no cold air in the 2nd unit. I have to continue to make calls which I have been doing... Read More

I called CHW about a double oven not heating properly. That day, CHW contacted a local company who quickly scheduled an appointment with me. The repairmen were VERY knowledgeable and discovered the problem. The next day I was advised of approval by CHW and am currently awaiting a part.

My refrigerator was making terrible noises & I was afraid it was going to suddenly quit. I filed a claim, and a technician was out to look at it the next day. He told me the compressor was bad and Choice would most probably have me replace the refrigerator, since it is 20 years old. Today (2 days later) I'm told they have notified the technician to repair it! I am surprised, because of the age of the unit, although I do like my refrigerator very much. The Choice folks are very nice and they act quickly. I'm just surprised at their decision because of the age of the refrigerator.

From scheduling to completion, choice warranty was very easy to deal with. I also like that when I called in there was no long wait time. The representative quickly and efficiently resolved my issues. A technician was and problrm fixed within 24 hours. I will definitely keep choice warranty for my home warranty

I had another home warantee co in the past... Difficult to make appts and they always tried to find a loop hole on why the repair wasn’t covered, un professional technicians. Choice warantee, easy to set appt, great technicians, no hassle repairs!!!! Highly recommend!!!

Just two weeks in my new home and the air conditioning went out. This was my first time using Choice Warranty. I reported my problem, I immediately received an appointment and the name of the contractor that would be coming out. The technician actually came earlier than expected and took care of the problem. I was so relieved and thankful . The process was fast and convenient. I highly recommend Choice Warranty.
