Our Overall Rating: 4.6 / 5 (Excellent)

Choice Home Warranty offers a full array of home appliance and systems coverage at a competitive price. The company offers two plans for existing home owners —Basic and Total. In addition to a monthly premium, customers can expect to pay an $85 service fee each time they make a claim, which falls in low-to-mid range when compared to other home warranty companies.

You can submit a claim 24/7, including holidays, via phone, online, or app. The company utilizes proprietary technology to begin the dispatching process after a claim is filed. The company has recently updated their plans increasing coverage and has fewer limitations. Their plans and optional coverage can cover over 25 major systems and appliances.

Choice Home Warranty earns a B rating from the Better Business Bureau and has a positive rating on Trustpilot, but in this industry, negative customer reviews far outnumber positive ones.

Coverage Options - 4.5 / 5

Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

We had a plugged main drain line from the house sitting so long. Amy's Plumbing came out on Sunday and fixed the problem. It clogged again and Amy's Plumbing came out at 7am Monday morning! The plumber fixed it again without a second fee! Thank you

The experience Was pretty good. The guy that came he was very nice and polite. I would be more satisfied if I did not get charged because it was just a simple push of a button what the problem was which I was not aware Of It took less than a minute nothing was really broken. I understand are supposed to be a service charge the but in situations like this I Wish that customers Shut not be charged.Thank you

I filed a claim and told you I was having trouble with my water softner that it wasn't working correctly and you sent out a plumber who said he doesn't work on water softners that he is a plumber so I had to pay $60.00 and he left didn't do a thing now I have to contact you again and you will send someone else out and I will have to pay another $ 60.00 needless to say I am not a happy camper.

I DON'T BELIEVE THAT I WAS GIVEN A FAIR CURRENT MARKET CONPENSATION FOR THE MICROWAVE OR DISHWASHER. HALF THE PRICE WOULD BE SATISFACTORY, BUT SOME IS BETTER THAN NONE. THE APPLIANCES IN MY HOME WERE OLD BUT NOT CHEAP AT THE TIME WERE INSTALLED.

I have reviewed online reviews of consumers advocate. Many reviews indicate that claims were denied and so I have been vacillating as to whether or not I want to keep my membership or not. When I try to select one or two stars it defaulted to three. When I try to select three it defaulted to 5. That seems very shady to me and starts to tip the scale in the direction of dropping you guys.

I will not rest until you and your associates are prosecuted in a Federal Court. Understand? You are deceptive, dishonest and unethical. I will also send other local news agencies like WPIX to promote your dishonesty during prime time news. Enjoy with my compliments. You have earned this! Eddie Rodriguez West Palm Beach, FL

Communication was good, however I believe Choice can do a better job of having vendors lined up in advance to submit customers claim to. The customer should not have the responsibility placed on them to find a vendor. I received emails stating Choice could not find an appropriate appliance repair person. I picked up the phone book and found an excellent vendor that came right over. He states he does work for Choice. Why do you not have him on your list to assist customers? I will see if my check comes in a timely manner. Overall the experience was good.
