Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

As a first time homeowner, I panicked when me heat went out. Especially with the temperature being under 25 degrees. I called to put in a claim at 3am on a Sunday. By 7am that same day, I had an appointment for Monday. The entire process was very quick and ran smooth. CHW gave me a peace of mind during this situation. With their prompt service and experienced contractors, CHW is the way to go!!!

Choice Home Warranty was called on Saturday afternoon and told I needed my kitchen sink snaked out because it was not draining at all. Sunday morning I was emailed with the name of my service man and a 3-8 window for him to clear it up. He arrived at 6 after confirming his arrival. The service man was gracious and poured a strong clog clearing agent down the sink. It didn't work right away so he took pictures and said if it didn't work he would get authorization to snake the sink and return in a day or two. I said that wasn't what was agreed, I assumed he would be equipped to fix the sink by snaking if the agent didn't work but he said that it didn't work that way. Fortunately for me the... Read More

My basement drain started backing up. Placed a easy to use claim on line on a Friday. Appointment was communicated to me for Monday between 11am and 3pm. Technician called to verify day of appointment. Technician arrived during window of time. Cleared my clog and briefed me on work done. Thanks for quick service BPR plumbing representing Choice.

Choice Home Warranty was very quick to respond but the contractor they sent was not knowledgeable about the problem. Had to schedule a second contractor and had to pay an additional 75.00 fee. Not very happy about that.

The only issue i have is that i called for a heating issue, and it was 10° outside....it took about 24 hours for my issue to be resolved, leaving my house at a cool 60°(i have a small chlid). Other than that the service by Eagle was EXCELLENT and am glad the technician was very professional.
