Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I would have preferred a local repair service do the work . In my request for help I named the agency where I purchased the dishwasher and who knew it's service history. This would have saved everyone time and travel.

I placed a claim on Friday March 8th for a leak in the PVC line coming from my hot water tank and it was a strong steady stream of water. U scheduled me to have a company come out on Tuesday March 12 therefore allowing a water Lake in my home From the 8th of March until the 12th. The company that came out assessed the problem stated they had to contact you and they left still leaving the water heavily leaking. I called customer service got the run around became aggravated as could be then was told a company would be back out on Thursday the 14th. I am not pleased or satisfied with you all on yesterday 3-13-2019 actions. We were lied to by one of your representatives to the technician that works for Barkers Heating & Cooling. You all told us to have our ac unit serviced every year. We did just that yesterday and technician find a faulty part. Not sure Choice home Warranty is any worse than others, but I will never use a home warranty service. The reason they can fix your appliances is they use cheaper service providers and inventories of parts. I am looking at a broken washer and waiting 5 days for a simple part I could get at any appliance store or Amazon Prime tomorrow. The part is approximately 30 usd. so now I will be out a washer for probably 7 days now. Can you imagine if this was you A/C in the summer and they went through the same process. I know I am paying less for the repair than if I did not have the warranty, but the waiting time is not worth it for me. One must decide if they can handle the waiting time for... Read More
