Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

The service man that worked on our plumbing was great, I would definitely use that company again but Choice Warranty decided not to cover replacement of a leaking pipe we have. That does not sut well with me. I give 2 and a half stars.

CHW has been such a convenient and useful item to have as a homeowner. Almost any covered item or piece of equipment in my home warranty’s plan, is to be completely repaired by professionals and the owners only have to pay a small co-pay for each repair. The first technician was a no show. My address was correct but the wrong phone number was on the ticket. I had to wait 2 days for another appointment. A part is needed to complete the repair and the tech can't come back until 6/12. It was tourchture trying to speak with someone about the first appointment. This is taking almost a month from the time I submitted the request to resolution. UNACCEPTABLE. The wrong name is still on the ticket and I have no idea how the name got on the ticket as I'm the only person on the account.

Claimed my ac breakage was not normal wear. Live in Texas in the summer i sure can not wait to fix. Hey are leaving me in 90degree plus weather to fight with.them. Do not due them they do not honor their commentments.

Called asked for call back no call back called stayed on hold reported problem told would get E mail to get fixed. One week later no E mail. Promised good service. Have three year contract ready to cancel very upset. Went on line no were to sign in for problem just to sign up for new contract Very upset. Still on phone trying to check on fix for water heater leak.

I HAD TO CONTACT SAM'S A/C TO CANCEL BECAUSE I HAD A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT THAT I HAD TOTALLY FORGOTTEN. WAS GOING TO RESCHEDULE. HOWEVER, WHEN MY SON ARRIVED TO PICK ME UP FOR THE APPOINTMENT, I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE A/C AND HE WENT TO LOOK AT THE THERMOSTAT. APPARENTLY, IT IS WORKING FINE. UNFORTUNATELY, IT WAS ON FAN, SO, OF COURSE, IT WAS NOT BLOWING COLD AIR. THANKS FOR THE PROMPT RESPONSE TO MY CALL FOR SERVICE.

My first time using CHW. I called for a water heater replacement on 5/4/2020. My water heater was 18 years old and they had a technician come out within a couple of days. The technician was on time and after inspection agreed a new unit would be submitted for replacement. The technician scheduled the next week to install and then after arriving 3 hours late from my scheduled install time he came in and drained the old water heater. He then discovered the new water heater would not fit. So he said he would have to order a different water heater. He left and I haven't heard anything since.
