Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I have been deceived in lied to about a technician coming out to my place to fix my AC I put in a claim all Friday July 2nd and it is now July 5th and no one has been here yet.

Don't know where to begin. I paid a $60. service call for you to tell me that my range had been recalled and you would pay nothing on the claim. I did get a reference number for the recall but could not find out how to contact someone about the recall. That might seem easy with the advantage of the internet, but it is not. If you have a research dept. to check on recalls maybe they could give the consumer a little more information. Yesterday we paid a $60. fee because we had an electrical problem. The electrician sad (said) it would cost another $130. because he could not find the problem and some kind of specialist would have to come out to locate the problem. When he left my... Read More

My experience was horrible starting with customer service and ended with custommeet service. I filed a claim on a Sunday, was told I would hear from customer service within 24 hours. I DID NOT!!!! I called on Monday to sit on hold for 2 hours. I then pressed 2 for them to call me back. 6 hours later someone calls. I tell them the issue and that it is the same issue with my refrigerator that happened the last time and that I was fearful that I would lose everything again and have to live out of an ice chest for weeks like last time. I rate the technician 5 stars. He did his job and corrected part of the problem. He could only do what you paid him to do. You ( Choice Home Warranty) I m very dissatisfied with you. You said I had a over load in the plug. I Do Not. I totally disagree with that. I need to request for him to come back out her and fix the other serge boxes. I still have the same problem. I am not going to pay another $60.00 for someone else to come out and fix them one at a time. I've paid you enough money already. Please call me.
