Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

The technician was very good . He fixed the problem. I am giving home choice warranty only one star because they never helped me fix my pool leakage this this summer. I had to wait more than 2 months for a pool technnician. The pool technician never showed up and I ended up fixing my pool by myself

Easy to file a claim, even on weekends. The technicians sent to do the repairs are top notch, really know their business, and leave your home as clean as when they arrived. The only negative, in some instances, is the valuation CHW may place on an appliance that can not be repaired but must be replaced.

Even though I live in the "country" and there are limited numbers of repair businesses, I have been able to "hire" my own service technician and reimbursed by CHW. I appreciate that there is an option and I don't have to wait for someone to come from the "city".

Techs should carry spare parts or have them available in a near by facility to expedite repair and product uptime. Common failure items especially. If a tech orders a part for repair, that part should be sent within first 24 hr window and tech should schedule repair fix within next 24 hrs during normal work week. Waiting over a week is unsatisfactory. I am waiting 9 days for tech to return and get my washer fixed.

I submitted my claim online In the evening and had an appointment the very next morning. The Angel AC tech, Rodis (?) called me about 30 minutes before his arrival, Which was in the timeframe of my scheduled appointment. He was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I always get five star service from Choice Warranty and Angel AC!

Please note that most 5 star reviews only talk about the process of signing up! Wait till your furnace quits!!! Mine did, and I asked CHOICE if I could use a local business that I trusted, and they said NO. They sent me a technician 78 miles away! The tech came, and said he had to research for a circuit board. He collected the $60 copay. When I didn't hear from him, I called and he said he quit working with CHOICE because they wouldn't pay for his work and time! CH then said to find my own technician, which I tried to do initially! My house had been cold for 4 days. My tech fixed it quickly, and when I tried to submit the claim, I heard nothing....Out $60 for THEIR tech, and out $134... Read More
