Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Usually I am very pleased with appointments and service people. My technician was good, for first checking of my washing machine, but the delay in getting a part and having it repaired not so good

First time experience - Great. Our disposal broke and I went online and put a claim in. I got an email confirming, received another email with day of service, then received a call from the technician to confirm. The day of, the technician called, let me know he was on his way. The technician came, was very professional, choice rep was available to approve replacement and technician completed. It was a great experience for the first time.

The service request was quick response and the technician was arrived within 24 hours as agreed. Upon finding the problem they reported back and choice management approved the work order immediately and the work was completed within next 24 hours. I placed a claim for my ceiling fans, on a Monday night and by Thursday, Marvelous Electric was at my house. I thought the fans weren't working because on an electrical issue, but turns out the ceiling fans were unfixable. Prior to the scheduled visit, ME text me a few fan options and I was able to choose my preference. Customer service was amazing and John the service person did a phenomenal job! Arrived on time and cleaned up. Love the fact that ME is an established black owned business and has been over 20 years. The owner sounds like an extremely nice guy as I needed to rescheduled my appointment, he was very accommodating.

I first switched to Choice about 2 months ago anf put in a claim and they never called me and I had to call them back in 2 days. They told me to fix it and they will try to reimburse me( WHAT????)Not what I am paying for. I cancelled my repair claim and bought a new washer. Now I was reacy to cancel Choice bit decided to opt in a very small claim and this time communications was very good.Fixed problem in about 10 days. Sears repair service was EXCELLANT. Need to try to make a better window. a 9 hours window is a bit much and then ending up to be about 10 hours. I will stay with Choice and hopes my second experience will continue for the reast if needed. If you want to really improve... Read More
