Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Their repair man came, he was on time and very good, and told us what was wrong.Our air conditioner was not cooling to well, He talked to the Technician and told him it really needed to be replaced. Because it is an old unit, you are doing NOTHING TO HELP WITH OUR CLAIM. After waiting on the phone for 30 minutes and being told something completely opposite of what the repair man told the technician, she then transferred to someone that could not hear me on the phone and was going to call me back.....still waiting, two days later. My AC unit broke on June 6, 2017 and Choice Home Warranty declined to " repair or replace it" like they promised me. They are big liers. They ony want to make profits and not help the home owners. They offered me a "cash out" of $100 when it cost me personnally appro. $4,400 to to buy a new AC unit. They are a terrible and unreliable company. I do not recomend this company to any homeowner. Stay away from Choice Home Warranty at all cost.

Purchased pool service warranty. Had a leak on my system. Contacted CHW & spoke with an extremely knowledgeable customer service representative. Representative took down all details pertaining to my issue. Within 2 hours received a call back from a service contractor & next day visited my home to survey the issue. Within less than a week my service issue will be taken care off. What fantastic service, response, knowledge & value with Choice Home Warranty. I recommend any new customers to sign up & become one of the many satisfied clients for your home warranty.

I am so glad that I switched to Choice Home Warranty. Now only did I get a great cost; but great service. Since having Choice I have had an AC Unit repaired and now my built in microwave replaced. I was contacted within 24hrs for my repairs and the contractors came out and did the job. Customer service is pleasant and quick to respond- hassle free. I like that I can file my claims online and if any questions ; I have options to call in. I have now referred a relative to make the switch. I'm glad I made the choice to go with Choice. Ms Webb

Service is excellent and the price of the warranty is good - only negative is that when you do have a claim, the dollars offered are ridiculously low. You will not be able to replace an appliance or HVAC device with one of similar quality. Because I was persistent on my claim, they up-ed the offer but still only covered about 2/3 of the product cost - nothing is paid for installation. So think of your home warranty as a "help" in paying for 1/2 to 3/4 of what your replacement cost will be. But response time, communication, and follow-up is excellent.
