Due to the Corona Virus, i was not able to travel, i called them to cancel my Trip and have them cover my out of pocket, and they said they would not. I think since the corona virus was out of my hands the policy should have cover me.
I will never ever buy insurance, and to tell you the truth i will never do business with this company ever again!!!!
As a result of a pre-existing condition and Covid-19 My wife and I were forced to cancel our 50th anniversary trip to Italy. We had purchased a traveler policy for the trip for a premium of over $4,000. The policy was issued through our travel agent New Canaan World travel. We have lost $32,000 (deposit on our rental in Italy). Travelex has refused to provide a refund. No one advised us that pandemics were not covered.. I would never use these”bums” again.
I canceled my flight to Paris May 25,2020 because Coronavirus. Travelex sent me the plane ticket after I called them. Thanks!!!
I always buy travel insurance when we are going on vacation. In May 2019 we went to Ukraine, Odessa ( we are originally from over there) and Europe. On the 3rd day I feel and broke my elbow. Went to ER they put cast and told that I need an operation due to displaced fracture. Call to my daughter to USA and she trying to do evacuation plan to bring me back home. And you what they did not do anything to bring me back home. And we have to continue our vacation and come home as should. Terrible service. Thank god I did not have complications with surgery. But people think before buying Travelex insurance.
We purchased travleex insurance for our July 2019 trip to the Mediterranean. Our flight was cancelled on our way back to the US from Athens, Greece. Travelex did not cover our cancelled flight replacement tickets. The claims representative said it was because it did not fall under trip cancellation but trip delay. When we called the emergency travelex number from our hotel in Athens the representative said book the last minute flight it would be covered. People beware if you have a cancelled flight it will not be covered under trip cancellation. Our replacement tickets were 8,000 because we booked last minute. I will never use the insurance again!
TRAVELEX paid a $650 medical claim immediately. Got a sore throat and cold on a cruise ship in Asia. TRAVELEX not only paid the medical bill, but also reimbursed me for a $160 shore excursion I missed. They could not have been nicer or more efficient. We travel a lot and always use them. You should too.
Used to be a terrific company, but they've recently changed and now ask for TRANSLATED COPIES OF DOCTOR'S DIAGNOSIS, credit card statements, and other hoops and hurdles they've never asked for before. Also, they insist on online claim filing, but take WEEKS to respond to you to tell you they need something more than they asked for last time. I used to be able to send my hard copies of my receipts and Travelex would take care of the rest. I have never been asked to get a copy of my doctor's diagnosis, and have never had to translate them. Disgusted by their failure to fulfill promise . Don"t waste your money In my opinion, they are frauds. My group will never use them again. Lost a bunch of customers.
Could you confirm we have travel insurance? Primary traveler is Jacqueline Yockey and confirmation is TTB482470. Ten travelers total. Have we paid in full? Can we add on any additional travelers from Kentucky? How about from out of state? Our group consists of about 50 passengers going on the same tour but from different states.
