The company offers two benefit limit choices: $5000 or unlimited. We prefer plans that offer the option of unlimited coverage, particularly when adding it doesn't drive costs sky-high. That's the case with Pets Best.

Pets Best has no age restriction; they will cover dogs and cats regardless of how old they are. The company does not exclude cruciate ligament issues so long as they occur after a 6-month waiting period. That's a significant competitive advantage for owners of dogs susceptible to that type of illness. In addition, plans include coverage for accidental dental and some dental illnesses.

This company is dreadful. Do NOT even think about purchasing insurance here. I appealed a claim in JULY and I never heard back. Furthermore, it's impossible to speak with anyone at this company. I haven't even been able to cancel my policy. I believe they're going out of business so avoid Pets Best! Tell me, "Official Response," why no one is available for a call? "Affected by COVID" is a really lame excuse. EVERYONE is affected by COVID but most business at least TRY to accommodate their customers.

This company, Pets Best, is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. The company puts up a front as to being out for the animals, however, Pets Best is only out to take your money. Buyer please beware and steer clear.

Please save yourself the aggravation and the money. pets best is a complete waste of both I have been a loyal customer for the last five years with two pets insured. Premiums have now reached almost $1000 a year and they use every excuse under the sun not to cover a claim and when they do cover claim it takes months to see any reimbursement.

I cancelled my WELLNESS PLAN with Pet's Best because after going over the numbers with them I was losing money on the reimbursement they were giving me on the medications. I was getting less than half of what his basic meds were costing me. And recently, my dog had an emergency visit, and needed a CBC Panel and Exam/Consultation. They denied both. Amazing. They said that this was part of his regular check up??? This was an emergency visit during Covid-19 ... and he was sick. And he never needs a CBC panel with his yearly check up. I am going to fight this. They have raised my rates on a 6 year old dog with no problems for no reasons.

Extremely poor handling of claims - takes forever even when submitted online. If they don't receive a year of records from vet they deny the claim and close it. There is always a reason for denying a claim and after 1 year of multiple claims we had to cancel as no claims were paid. They have a way to obtain pre-authorization for an expensive claim but found a loophole so that it couldn't be used - even when the vet record revealed this was the recommended treatment. On the phone they said they couldn't guarantee it but they saw no reason it wouldn't be covered - it was eventually denied because the dog had a similar problem on the other side 2 years previously which had fully healed with... Pets Best insurance, in my opiion, is the best that is available. Their monthly premiums are lower than others, owned by veterinans, and have free phone consolting with a doctor. My dog contracted cancer, and they have paid every bill within a month. When I purchased the insurance, I had checked every other insurance company at the time, and found Pets Best to be the best. Love it.

I changed my full coverage policy with them to a basic coverage policy...and they automatically billed my credit card for my original policy (more than a $600 difference); I had to constantly contact them to get this corrected and weeks later I still do not have a full refund. They refunded me $312 originally. They said they sent a check for the remainder which was $280 (still not received after several weeks). I wanted to keep the basic coverage; however, for all the hassle to deal with and unanswered questions I am cancelling my policy (which I probably won't be reimbursed for either). DO NOT BUY THIS INSURANCE! Given my experience, I have to say this is probably the worst insurance agency I've ever dealt with in my life. I have open complains with the BBB and CA Department of Insurance against them, and I'm contemplating litigation at this point since they seem to not give a flying rip about me. My decent into pet insurance hell began on Christmas Eve of 2019, when my dog began vomiting uncontrollably. The vet diagnosed my dog with a possible bowel obstruction and he also noticed a suspicious mass, so my dog underwent an exploratory abdominal surgery and had the mass removed and biopsied. I have had several insurance providers for my animals over many years. I must say Pets Best is the worst company by far. Over a 1 year term, I have had 5 claims denied and 1 pre-authorization. This is not an emotional rant, each claim had valid reason and diagnosis yet the crooks at Pets Best found a loophole or reason that it was invalid, no reason to appeal, they do not get back to you on those either. Pets Best is a scam, and after thousands of dollars of bills I can't afford, my pet is the one who is affected at the end of the day. STAY AWAY....

Absolutely a waste of money ! Where to begin! Well, I waited 6 weeks for my reimbursement and was emailed that it was to go into my account over a week ago and still haven’t received it. When I called about the wait they said they don’t have enough help. please! To many to list here, never covers anything, they will always look for something in the records that will make them not cover your claim. Just stay away! I give them no stars. I had to put 1 to enter this review. I read they have financial problems, I believe it.
