Horrible! I have three PetFirst Insurance policies- for my dog and two cats- and I submitted a claim for less than $500 after the 90 deadline to submit claims because I had a devastating situation. A faulty furnace caused major smoke damage to my house that destroyed most of my belongings and required me to have the items I was able to salvage professionally cleaned by a variety of companies who specialize in smoke damage. When I explained the situation to Petfirst I was told it was illegal for them to reimburse me. PetFirst told me that the insurance laws in CT (where I live) prevented them from doing so legally. I told them that this information was incorrect. I had another half a... Read More
This is a bait and switch company. STAY AWAY!! Erroneous email communications. CSR's who can't answer any questions. This company is horrible!!!
Pet First is a great company !! I would recommend it to everyone I know!!!
Our costs for 2 days at the Vet was over $1000.00 and PetFirst Insurance paid $941.00. We were more than satisfied and it was a relief since we still had health concerns for our little girl. Even though cost was not an issue as we all do whatever we can to save our pets the arrival of the check was comforting.
I was provided a 1 month policy with my shelter pet adoption. The dog got sick soon after getting home. I incurred over 800 in bills and Pet First denied all claims. The say it was a pre-existing condition, but the dog had no symptoms before he was adopted. This is a typical insurance scam, collect premiums and deny claims.
PetFirst was very helpful in reimbursing me for a very expensive veterinary bill. My invalid spouse fell on my Chinese Crested and injured her. I took her to am emergency clinic and after she came home her health seemed to worsen, and I took her to my llocal veterinarian. He took tests and discovered she had a fractured rib, and a clot on her lung. If I wouldn't have taken her to the veterinarian at the time she would have lost her life. The veterinarian sent her to a special pet emergency care center for 24 hour care over the weekend. She has now recuperated at the cost of over $5000. If I had not had PetFirst insurance the cost of the veterinarian expenses would have been all of... Read More
I love this insurance company!!! It has helped me so much to give the care to my dogs that I otherwise could not. They are fair, efficient and most importantly compassionate!!! Thanks to all who work at Pet First!!!
Hi I was disappointed with my last submission because I did not get that much back . . my bad, I forgot about the $50 per incident deductible, my dog had an ear infection and it was only 1 visit so not too much $$, but I was reimbursed for everything beyond that $50. However! My 13 year old cat has been struggling with a nasty UTI - her first ever! - and we have been to the vet (4) times already, with all kinds of testing and medication being done . . . cost a small fortune and I am VERY HAPPY to say that I was reimbursed MOST of it . . . what a relief! I am so happy I have Pet First Pet Insurance. Also their customer service reps are wonderful if you have to call them with any... Read More
PetFirst Pet Insurance is outstanding. Coverage is affordable, it is easy to file a claim and reimbursement is within 2 weeks of filing.
My pup developed kennel cough after I adopted her on a Sat. eve. The pamphlet that I received upon adoption stated that they were closed until Mon morning so I was not able to activate at time of adoption. I called Monday morning to activate the policy. On Tuesday I noticed a hacking cough so I made an appt for the following day. My claim was denied. No explanation. I had to call to talk to a rep and was told it was because it was considered a pre-existing condition. Appeals and arguing are not worth it... Petfirst would have only paid out $62 anyway - but, in the end, they lost a possible long time customer and much more than the $62 they would have paid out. I'm glad that I had the free... Read More
