Embrace Pet Insurance Agency LLC is a pet insurance provider based in Cleveland Ohio that sells policies for dogs and cats. They were founded in 2003 and are underwritten by American Modern Home Insurance Company.

Embrace gets good marks from us mainly on the strength of customer satisfaction.

Even though plans are a little on the pricier side, and unlimited coverage is not an option, customer feedback is among the most positive.

Also, Embrace offers standard coverage of many conditions and treatments not offered at all by most plans. These include behavioral therapy and prosthetics.

Embrace sets itself apart from the pack in coverage because, in addition to providing for usual accidents and illnesses, the company also covers various items not traditionally offered under other companies' standard plans.

These include prosthetic limbs, behavioral therapy, and alternative treatments. Embrace also offers prescription drug coverage and a wellness plan at an additional cost.

As with all pet insurance plans, Embrace will not cover pre-existing conditions if they were apparent before the policy purchase.

The lowest limit is $5000, while the highest is $15,000. This refers to the maximum they will pay for all incidents and procedures for the entire year.

The company enables their customers to choose annual deductibles of $100, $200, $300, $500 and $1000. They also offer a program called Healthy Pet Deductible.

Embrace's waiting periods are pretty much standard when compared to other companies.

For accidents and illnesses, the waiting period is 14 days. However, in some states, the waiting period for accidents is only 48 hours or two days.

There is an additional six month waiting period for dogs for orthopedic conditions, but there is an option to have this reduced to as little as 14 days.

Embrace will not allow pets older than 14 to enroll in illness coverage, which some other plans do.

Embrace has some of the best feedback we've seen when it comes to customer service.

The majority of online reviews mirror generally positive experiences. To make a claim you must fill out the claim form that was included with the enrollment email.

You can also download the form on the website or have it mailed to you. The form must be filled out by a veterinary staff member. Include all relevant invoices and receipts and fax or email them all to the company.

Embrace offers direct deposit to get you the reimbursement as quickly as possible. Furthermore, beginning recently, claim forms can now also uploaded through MyEmbrace, the company's online customer account.

My claim was handled quickly and professionally. The communication was excellent. Not everything was paid, but I expected that per the terms of the policy. I am very pleased with how my claim was handled.

If you have had prior insurance and has incidents before joining embrace, beware. My pup has gone to his vet and an emergency ER for vomiting over the course of a year and a half, wit ASPCA as his coverage provider. ASPCA was covering a little but after some research I thought embrace would be a good fit, however, what embrace doesn't tell you is that if you had prior issues they count those as a temporary pre-existing condition and require the dog to be clear of any signs of it for a whole year. My dog 1st had skin abrasions on his feet in the past from rough pavement and when he had his recent issue of a foot cyst,they claimed that since he had a foot issue before that it was related.... They seem to care and do things right. Only problem is: it takes them a long time. It has been 12 days since I submitted claim and no resolution or check yet.

My beloved kitty, Madden, recently passed after a sudden onset of cancer. Though Madden graced my life for only a year and a half, he was my best friend. All of the Embrace staff who assisted me during this dufficult time were extremely helpful, courteous and professional. They were very gracious and processed my claims very quickly. I highly recommend Embrace Pet Insurance to anyone either considering pet adoption or who already has a best friend. My deepest gratitude to all the great people at Embrace Pet Insurance!

You handle and process claims in a consistent and timely manner. I just wish you had direct pay to a vet that was quicker because I had a large claim and had to find the money up front. In a time of emotional distress direct pay would take away that burden.

I have been very pleased with my experience as an Embrace customer. There has been a quick turnaround time on all the claims I have submitted, and the one time I needed to appeal something it was taken care of in a timely manner also. All of the staff members I have spoken to have been friendly and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about Embrace and recommend them to all my friends who are looking for pet insurance.

When I first got Fargo 8.5 years ago I started with another company for him find my two cats. Every single claim I put in was denied. I switched after 1 year to Embrace. Fortunately, until now, I only had to make one small claim for a yeast infection in his ears. Now he has diabetes. Embrace has paid promptly for his tests and medications. The customer service has been pleasant and efficient. I couldn't ask for more from a pet insurance company.

I purchased a policy for our adopted 6 month old Golden who recently passed at age 8 due to cancer. This was his second bout with cancer and in both situations Embrace was a great company to serve our insurance needs. They covered everything our policy promised with no hassles. In fact, they were responsive and helpful during a very difficult time. The online claims process is easy to use. I will buy another policy from them when we become pet owners again.

Excellent Service and Quick payout, Best available Coverage and premium cost when compare to other big insurance carriers Embrace beat them all. They also offer the option to cover pet wellness cost. Highly recommend Embrace.
