THIS COMPANY IS SET UP TO ROB CUSTOMERS. LIARS AND SCAMMERS!! YOU ARE UNCOOPERATIVE, REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE FOR CLAIM FOR DAMAGESS AND LOSSES. I WAS EXTREMELY METICULOUS IN DOCUMENTING MY LOST PROPERTY - SPENDING WEEKS GATHERING PICTURES AND ESTIMATING 'CURRENT' VALUES FOR BROKEN PROPERTY. AT YOUR REQUEST EMAILED PDF FILES TO YOUR SO CALLED 'CLAIMS' DEPARTMENT WHO DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO OPEN THE FILE AND RESPOND. THIS FIASCO BEGAN MID-AUGUST, 2021. I arranged for them to move me from Maryland to West Virginia. As it got closer to the move date, whenever I called to verify that I was on the schedule I could never get an answer. Finally four days before the move a very nice lady in Florida called me and arranged for the move. Talking to Lisa was the best part of this entire experience. I had several pieces of furniture damaged and antique glassware. This same furniture was moved from Alexandria, VA to New Orleans, LA and then to Southern Maryland with no damage at all. BEWARE! I suspect all of the positive reviews here are fake... They offer low bids that seem too good to be true after shopping around and all the horror stories you hear and read about, but.... They will jack up the price after the fact, and if you can't pay the new price (thousands of dollars) they keep your entire house full of things until you can (assuming you can ever afford to pay). Stuff is still in their possession after months, they also stop responding and now ignore the letters from lawyers. No cash, no response, no stuff.... Moving Nation gave us a special ‘piggyback’ discount that allowed us to save hundreds of dollars, which was really nice of them. The managers of this company are genuinely nice people. The movers work hard and do a great job. I am a guaranteed return customer.
A one star rating is too high for Moving Nation is too high-- there need to be negative stars for companies like this. I have moved many times in my life and Moving Nation is, by far, the worst I have encountered. From top to bottom the employees are dishonest, rude and unprofessional. The dates quoted for pickup and delivery are never met. In fact, I did not find out about my pickup date until the drivers were on the way to my house. We missed our flight to our new home because the driver did not show up until 9:30 PM and could not finish until the following morning. Since this was the first time that I was going to hire pro movers, I asked around before making my final decision. Among the factors I considered were the online reputation (through reviews like this one), whether there were any complaints in the Better Business Bureau for the company, and the cost of the service. I made the final decision after speaking to the different companies over the phone and assessing whether they seemed genuine and reliable. My delivery was delayed a couple of days but it was out of all our control with flyovers and interstates being closed and all. Other than that, a nice, effortless move that got all my things to me amidst all the chaos going round.
I was recommended this company by a colleague who had used them last year and praised them to the skies. They are certainly deserving of praise for their strong work ethic, honesty and price transparency. I am already recommending them to people I know.
