STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! BEWARE!! We did a long distance move from west coast to the east coast. The interaction you have with this company will start off good. But it will quickly decline from the initial low estimate they give you to sign up with them. Not only did we have problems with overcharges, but a hugee delivery delay, new day-of-move charges, charges for tape (that is supposed to be included) and emotional abuse from a manager (Nadine) and a representative (Lisa). They don't answer the phone, they took 3 weeks to get us a manager and I have 17 emails with a manager who didn't try to deescalate the situation at all, or help. Moving Nation understands how stressful moving time is for most people and their assistance during our move made a chaotic and confusing time much more bearable. For that, they have my strongest recommendation. My story: A good promotion uprooted me from Kansas where I have lived for 17 years and plonked me down in California, which I haven’t even visited before. But to complicate matters, I was required to turn up within 2 weeks. Very reliable company that puts a lot of emphasis on communication with customers. All my calls were promptly answered and the people from their office are able to give you crucial information when you ask. There is no beating about the bush when it comes to questions of cost – Moving Nation is definitely not the cheapest option out there but they are completely transparent with their cost calculation and stick to their quotes. I have used several moving companies around the company (this time, I was moving from Texas to new jersey) but never had a better experience than this one.
What I liked most about hiring Moving Nation was that the movers did not waste any time. They knew what they had to do and got right on it. That was the same for the loading and the delivery - both times they managed to finish the job ahead of time. This is the kind of service that you don’t mind paying for. In terms of paying, just be mindful that they are slightly more costly than many of the other companies. If you are looking to save money but risk amateurs handling your prized possessions, that’s your call. Terrible is an understatement ! I called the night before to confirm. Didn't show up! They literally stiffed me on moving day! Sent guys with NO truck, and NO packing material, NO uniforms, NO business cards, NO ID, who offered to buy their own packing material right then and have ME rent a U- Haul .. if I would have wanted to rent my own U-Haul truck, I wouldn't have hired a moving company. Can you say SCAM??? When I went outside to tell the guys I couldn't get a hold of the company, they were gone. The office hung up on me 5 times when I called customer service, left me on hold multiple times and I called the salesperson over 20 times from 3 different phones.. I cant believe they have 4... My mom has been waiting 3 weeks for her things. She has been told that they are not sure when she will receive them and they are at their furthest deadline to deliver. No talk of recourse or ammendment on their end. Yelp has a dozen negative review for this company and from the looks of the comments here, they are mostly negative with the same complaints over and over. I do not understand where the 4.5 rating is coming from or why the report above shows no complaints. Where is the report for 2018, 2019 and 2020?
Hello dear reader, I pray listen well – and bear ye witness to my tale of woe; of movers whose help was a living hell, and for whom there is no rating too low. My ask was simply to just use one truck, and to this one request they did agree. But once cash changed hands, I was out of luck; instead of one truck, they would now use three. I wish this lie would also be the last, But beyond lying, they also weren’t fast. We had a very bad experience with this company. Driver was rude and refused to help packers. Two packers got into a fight in my driveway and both walked off the job. Took 5 days to pack the house because of lack of help. Promised me the world and we got over charged, items packed that were not supposed to be shipped, and some were broken when they arrived. The driver called them junk and that he would not even move them to proper room. This was antique wardrobe and a Lladro statuette. Not junk. If you want a guarantee not to be scammed when you are moving, the quick and simple solution is to just put your faith in the fantastic team at Moving Nation. From the movers to the sales managers to the admin people, everyone is on the ball and knows their role. The movers even turned up early for the move and finished ahead of time which I have personally never seen in so many years of moving. Also, they were careful all the way through, which was tough considering they had 5 bedrooms to get through and then move it all to TX.
This is a company that deserves an award for how well they do their job. The good movers aside, the customer service and admin team is as professional as you would expect in a large multinational corporation – always prompt with their answers, tell you if they don’t know something but make sure that they find the info for you later. I have had some testy exchanges with other moving companies but I don’t think Moving Nation ever manages to make customers angry. I recommend this company highly.
