I've not had any technical problems but I no longer need the service and I'm finding that fluent is very reluctant to cancel. The previous year I tried to cancel early and they told me that I had one year left in contract and would owe $700. So I waited one year and was told the same story. When I disputed this the customer rep said they could no longer tell me on the phone how much I owed remaining. They would mail me a letter regarding final amount owing. When I asked how we can settle this once I got the letter then I could talk to a rep in the phone and pay the final amount. So... they couldn't tell me how much I owed but could take my final payment on the phone when I got a letter...... Read More

Terrible terrible company!!! I have three alarm systems with them. One in my home and two in rental properties. Put them in rental properties for piece of mine and to find out that there notice even being monitored property Motion detector installed upside down. Set the alarm system off to test it and didn't even get a call saying that the alarm had been set off. Battery going dead with the carbon dioxide and again no phone call to warn us. Set one of the other alarm systems off by mistake and the monitor systems call about ten mins after the alarm was set off!Unacceptable to say the least. Fluent has been dishonest from the beginning. Promises are not worth the paper it’s written on. When trying to contact there is no response, either from rep or office. Still trying after six months and no response. Would never use them again.

2 years into a 5 year contract, keep getting txt that system is not communicating with provider, I call and it is concluded that a firmware update is needed (was told everything would be updated as they came out), talked over 3 weeks to send a tech to update, problem here is tech wants to use my personal computer to update his update tool??? After 2 1/2 hrs, tech finally gets update to work, shortly after he leaves, now we get glass break faults over and over for days, out of 8 false alarms, Fluent only calls twice and only once asked for verbal passcode. Told me 2 year contract. They zoom in on the iPad for you to sign the contract and boom they email you your copy you’ve signed a 5 year contract. The sales rep misrepresented the service and the contract. They neither maintain equipment, nor do they send a technician when problems arise as they expect you to do all the work and then pay them.

To anyone considering using this service I would strongly advise against it for the safety and security of your family. I signed up under the pretense that this would provide a higher level of comfort for when I work away and my family is home. Since I have signed up I have had to wait months on end for equipment. Every couple months my equipment stops working which means my home is no longer protected. I have had to wait on hold for long periods. I have asked to get out of the contract so that i can go with a provider that can actually service me to which I was told " sorry...but you signed the contract." Heads Up Regarding FLUENT ALARM COMPANY If you presently have an alarm company contract with Fluent Alarm Company (formally known as Alarmtek), you may be receiving little or no monitoring. Last evening at about 5pm we entered our home and proceed to punch in our code, but after entering 2/4 digits the pad went dead and our alarm sounded off for over 10 MINUTES, after which time a representative directed us to phone a service number. After several telephone prompts (4), We were asked to record our contact number. Contracts are way too long. Equipment malfunctioning long before contract expires (ie) batteries. Asked for assistance on a window sensor, still waiting for replacement (6) months later. There is a $15.00 courier charge for this as well.
