Overall Rating: 4.3 / 5 (Excellent)

As the fifth-largest U.S.-based insurer by market share alone, Progressive Corporation offers an extensive range of auto and recreational vehicle coverages, backed by their solid financial strength and vast industry experience. Although their RV insurance plans and discounts are less comprehensive than those of similar competitors, Progressive is sure to hit the mark for consumers seeking both reliability and affordability through their unbeatably low rates and customizable specialty products. Nevertheless, prospective customers are advised to read their plan details thoroughly before committing to any given coverage, as there seems to be an overabundance of negative online feedback for this and most other companies in the private passenger insurance industry, mostly due to consumer unawareness of covered claims.

Had an RV fire with our refrigerator our first month of ownership. Progressive wouldn't pay for anything remotely related to the frig because it was the cause of the fire. What a joke. I am done with them.

Had a total loss. Policy was 3 years old. I guess we covered it for more than it was worth 3 years ago. But now with the hot market for campers it's worth over 17k. But they only want to give us 13k. Just seems wrong in every shape and form. Can't get much for 13k. We have bought another camper, and they have lost us as customers.

Have had Progressive RV insurance for about 3 years now. Last summer had my catalytic converters stolen and Progressive was there to help get them replaced in time for a cross country trip. When we go back still had some issues and ended up having to take to a dealer an hour away. The dealer caused some damage to the awning and refused to admit it. I thought, that is what insurance is for and started a claim. Progressive, again, did a great job on helping me get it fixed. The other day I got a non-renewal notice from them. Think it is odd for a company to non-renew a client that pays on time, had 1 moving violation in 40 years, has only ever submitted 2 claims to an insurance company for a... Read More

Don’t buy! I purchased roadside assistance and they could not provide me a towing company so I am out $350 on a service I was paying for. I doubt I will get reimbursed but I will try and probably have to get a lawyer.

Had a person back into our coach. We have full coverage on our 40 foot desiel pusher with progressive. Not all damages where fixed and now we are left with a $250,000.00 coach that is non usable as the frame and jacks are damaged and progressive refuses to cover the damage. Had to hire a lawyer. It's been 6 months now without the use of our coach!

Can't say enough good things about our experience with Progressive RV insurance. Back in 2013, we (wife and 2 kids) were moving from Alaska back to the lower 48 when the tongue on our 30' bumper pull was sacrificed to the frost heave gods. We were in Yukon Territory about 4 hours NW of the nearest repair facility in Whitehorse. After driving an hour to the nearest payphone, we called Progressive and the rep on the phone knew exactly what to do. She directed us to go to Whitehorse and to call her when we got there. Once we arrived, we called her back and discovered that she had already found a repair facility in Whitehorse, a tow service to go get our trailer, AND she even found us a... Read More

I chose Progressive over State Farm and Good Sam because the cost was lower and the coverage as good or better. Good Sam will not provide replacement value coverage for a camper that is older than a 2019, but Progressive allowed me to set an Agreed Upon Value (which I did based on the NADA blue book value) and in the event of a total loss, that is the amount that I receive. I like the comfort of knowing that and not haggling over a claim later. They also provided $5,000 in contents coverage (far more than the $3,000 Good Sam quoted me) and included Roadside Assistance. Progressive also included Vacation Liability of $100,000, and I am a firm believer in liability coverage, even while on... Read More

We have our brand new 2020 5th wheel covered with this crummy insurance company along side both of our vehicles. (not for long). The RV is parked at my in laws' home who keeps their home and ground nice and tidy. Lets cut to the chase, when my husband went to pick it up due to a trip planned. He opened it up and figured out the water line was chewed through by a rodent. Finds out the neighbor was raising chicken, but is no longer due to a complaint from his other neighbors. We contact Progressive and they stated, WE HAVE TO CHECK IN ON OUR RV EVERY 2 WEEKS...... before they can cover the rodent claim. They act like we neglected or abandoned our trailer!!!!! How many RV owners who parked... Read More

After thousands of dollars of premiums, when I needed Progressive in the early morning hours, they wouldn't pick up the phone after I ran into road debris. If you love your family, stay away from Progressive.

I had progressive for 3 yrs started out with full coverage for 500 a yr and a disappearing deductible 2nd yr they raised my rate to 605 and now on the 3rd yr now the rate is over 700 dollars and I have not had one claim with them.I called to talk to them for the rate increase and was told it’s due to high vandalism and break ins time to find another policy....

I've been with Progressive for my motohome insurance for 3 years. The first couple of year I had modest increases as one might expect. The latest renewal notice had an increase of nearly $200 for the year. I called the independent agent and she ran it again and came up with the same premium. I went online and submitted a request through American Adventure. They responded within an hour with a rate using Progressive that was below what I paid in my first year with Progressive. Plus, the coverage was better with a guaranteed value (not depreciated value) in the case of a total loss, and better coverage for the loss of personal items from the motorhome. I then called my local independent... Read More

File claim on RV. Adjuster took pictures. They said the picture showed no impact so I took some pictures of impact near the delamination area. They then said that I had not followed "industry standards". I ask for a copy of the "industry standard" they were referring to and they refused to provide that document. I provided them documentation and YouTube from Dicor Self-Leveling Lap Sealant which recommends cleaning and sealing. I requested they send out the adjuster to take additional pictures. I was dealing with what they call the "National Catastrophe Response Team" Thinking back they ask if the RV was paid off. So they know they only have me to deal with if they declaim the claim.... Been a Progressive customer since 2001. Our fifth wheel we purchased new in 2012 has NO claims on it. We have the RV, three cars, atv, and home all insured through Progressive for a multi-policy discount. NO claims with perfect payment history. Another year and bam! $47.00 higher on the RV. It should be going down!!!!! I'm currently shopping around. I believe I'm done with Progressive RV insurance and they may lose all of my policies.

Have Progressive RV insurance for the last two years rates have increased every year no accidents no claims very experiensed driver and RV hauler camper is parked either at home or in a seasonal park. Our rates have gone up $60.00 per month without any explanation other than call them so that they can check what discounts they might be able to give us. I also have auto insurance through them and it just keeps going up costs have gone up $60 per month on that as well.

We had extensive damage to our fifth wheel due to hail and straight line winds. Progressive was wonderful to work with and keep us informed of the progress of the claim. They paid the claim in a timely manner, I highly recommend using this company to insure your RV/fith wheel/camper.

Absolutely garbage. We had a Toy hauler that the frame was destroyed when we caught a huge gust of wind on a section of road with a few huge potholes. Almost lost control, but was able to keep the whipping trailer on the road. Bent the frame all to hell. Progressive denied our claim because we didn't actually hit anything. Screw them, and Flo is annoying.

I have progressive insurance on my motorhome and when it was renewed in December they went up $100.00 and said they gave me a 25% discount so on a $400.00 policy that is a $200.00 increase and that is thru good sams club, I called them they said it because of the hurricanes on east coast of nc.

We have had nothing but problems with trying to get reimbursed for roadside assistance we were told we had when we broke down 5 hours away from home. Camper axle broke off. Told us to get the parts to get it fixed with mobile help that we paid out of pocket and the parts so they would not have to tow our camper 5 hours home. After we get home and paid over 800 out of pocket they claim we do not have roadside assistance. Took our camper to our local dealer for repairs and the adjuster from Progressive said he could help get our money spent back and then get a letter from Progressive saying they won't cover anything. I would not recommend RV insurance from them to anyone. They say one... Read More

The major claims we have are towing and roadside assistance that THEY offer throughout the USA and Canada. We live in Indiana and have used Progressive for three years, since buying our coach. We have blown tires on highway construction and most recent a flat tires on campsite. We called roadside for help to change a tire with our spare (which you must have on hand). Our spare was checked a few days prior to leaving and was in good condition. We called, answered all questions and kept getting called back with agent telling us over phone that they could not find a tire service anywhere, within 200 miles that working on RV wheels with bolt on hubcaps. Kept saying they were locking when they... Read More
