I've been with another company for 20 years. Deciding for a random change, I gave Good Sam a go. To my regret, I dismissed and minimized all of the severe criticism on mainstream review portals such as Yelp. At my age, I should have known better. Now, I'm in the hole with them. Their customer service is lower than sub-par. I wish all of the other Good Sam customers the best. For the those considering, STAY AWAY! :-)

They will deny every claim you submit, or they will just never respond to your claim. I filed a claim back in March. It still in not repaired and last we heard they were not sure if they are covering it. Our adjuster is completely unresponsive and I cant get through to anyone to speak to her supervisor. Even their online chat is a joke! I am now in the process of filing complaints with the Dept. of Insurance because I cant get anyone to help me. Pay the bit extra and go with a reputable company!

We had Good Sam and were insured by National General, I haven't had a ticket or accident for over 50 years and had to turn our fifth wheel in a small turn-a-round and the truck met the 5th wheel. I had the dent in the truck cab and the 5th wheel nose repaired and turned it in to National General. We had our three vehicles and house insured with the Good Sam Insurance Companies and after the turning accident they charged me with 5 points and more than doubled our premiums.

Do not get this RV insurance! I have had Good Sam insurance for over 3 years and never had a claim or used it. Last December, our motor home was hit by hail while on a trip. I called Good Sam the next day. I could see immediately they were going to give me trouble and resist helping me. They told me to take pictures of my motor home and send to them. I took pictures but it was hard to show all the hail damage and I did not have a ladder to get on roof of motor home. They called back and said they were going to close my claim because the damage was less than my deductible ($375). I said, "Hold on there. I need to let a professional look at it first!" I took my RV to a motor home... Read More

I love writing good reviews for people or companies that deserve it but today this is unfortunately not the case. First let it be known that I was once an agent myself therefor I know what the job of an agent is. This is not an agency… they only sell! If you put your trust in them as an "Agent" you will be making a mistake in my opinion. They do not stand behind there sales! A real Agency investigates problems and pushes for correctness and fare trade. An Agency is a filter, they filter the good from the bad for their customers and if one of the companies they are selling does not treat a customer correctly then they assist their customer with massive pressure on the company not acting... They are a scam and they will say any lie they can to get your signed up. Bought a camper and they were recommended. Called and made sure I could cancel and they said I could without any fees. Ended up switching to my primary insurance company since the rates and coverage were about the same and I could pay that bill all together. Call to cancel with them and they now want to charge a $18 cancellation fee. On top of this, they hounded me to try to get my auto insurance and quoted insanely high rates for it too.

Useless. Sales people said it covered generator. Had problems First thing Camping World repair said it dose not cover carberator or wiring. Spent nearly $1000 after insurance on it still will not run more than 45 seconds

Decided to move to another insurance provider after doing more research on Good Sam. Low and behold, it was a good move because unlike every other insurnace cancellation i've done with other companies, I was charge a $50 fee to cancel, plus I was charge 50% of the monthly premium despite only 4 days of the month passing. Of course it's in the fine print so that's the way it is, but that's completely unexpected and fees like that should be clearly posted when signing up- this is the type of shady stuff that I do not appreciate in a business.

We've been with Good Sam/National General for 3 years and for years in the past because we have an RV and they offered the best coverage and rates. This year we were told our rates were going to be more than double when our policy renews in January 2019. It isn't because of age or driving according to the rep. It's a statewide adjustment in Texas due to the risk. I understand increases, but they gave us grief for not being with our previous insurance company long enough and wanted to up-rate us coming in too. This is the second time we've had totally unreasonable increases and went elsewhere. They do know RVs and offer more complete coverage than most. The rate issues are getting tiresome.

Company thinks my 2018 toyhauler is worth a lot less than I do. Maybe someone else will benefit from this
