Summary

When it comes to any type of insurance coverage, a no limit benefit policy is our best protection against accidents and illness. Petsecure offers this option with its Secure 4 plan but this also comes at price. While this option is not recommended for those on a budget or with younger pets, pet owners with older pets should seriously consider this offer. Petsecure scores big with its coverage features and its preventive care services ensure that your pets are kept in tip top shape. Overall, Petsecure is definitely one of the better options for pet owners searching for pet insurance services.

I do not recommend PerSecure: every time I went to the vet with ear infection, or skin condition, PetSecure came up with any excuse they could to deny my claim. I couldn’t even pay down the $300 deductible enough to get reimbursement. They told me insurance is only good for emergency surgeries. But even with that, it seems they’d deny emergencies if they could. Waste of premiums from my experience. You’re better off to put the $55 into high interest savings account and just pay out of pocket when needed.

I would not recommend Petsecure for pet insurance. They just love to take premiums for your pet's insurance policy, but when push comes to shove, they will go ahead and use any excuse to deny your claim. My pet had an exclusion on their policy, and when a major health incident occurred, they used that as an excuse to deny the claim, even though they were 2 separate conditions (several vets have confirmed this when I asked). I would recommend another pet insurance provider. And judging by other people, their 4 star rating is not really accurate of their service.

My cat was neutered when she was 2 months old and had diarrhea due to the medications given to her, this was noted as expected by the vet and PetSecure listed it as a stomach illness for which they would not cover anything related until it was solved. 2 months past that we got a vet letter saying the diarrhea was long gone and there no other issues but PetSecure said the cat needs to be clear of that problem for 6 months. 5 months after that, in Dec 2018, my cat ingested 3 block of Lego, all hospitals we called deemed this as an emergency and so we brought my cat to one of them. She had xrays taken and they were able to confirm the piece went through her stomach so she should be safe,... Read More

With so many bad reviews on here, I can't believe the star system is saying 4 stars - something is very wrong with that. I paid for accident insurance for over 12 years and never had a claim. The one and claim I have ever had and they deny it. It is a legitimate claim and the company won't pay. DO NOT USE THEM. Put the money you would be paying them in an account and leave it there until needed. You will be much better off.

I have 2 dogs on highest plan and after 4 years of submitting claims for prescriptions, needles, dental cleanings and surgery. I got Maybe $250 in refunds after $5000 in dental alone.

Pretty much the same as everyone else. I have 2 dogs. 1 has made 0 claims and they raise the premium by close to 20% every year due to "increased vet costs". my older dog has made 5000$ in claims this year and we received barely 1000$ back and they lowered it to 50%. Not worth the aggravation. I would never use them again. All they give you is a false feeling of being covered. Then after you pay the bill you are constantly disappointed by the refund.

After paying premiums for six years, we finally had a major claim earlier this year for an MRI for our dog. The results showed that our dog requires back surgery. We elected to manage conservatively and he is doing fine for now, however, he will eventually need the procedure. We recently received notice from Petsecure that our coverage will now be reduced to 50% and another review will take place in 6 months. We have paid far more in premiums than we have ever claimed in expenses. Buyer beware!

Signed up in the summer and it took over a month to get everything set up even though my money came out the same day I called. I submitted an emergency vet claim very early in the policy now they wont pay and keep adding pre existing conditions after the fact. Highly do not recommend

Be careful with the risk management clause in your policy.. they will do everything to avoid paying your vet expenses if the policy is not profitable for the company. After 3 years as a customer and $4000 dollars in premiums paid I had over $2000 in vet bills and they decided to apply the clause and reduce my %coverage because my policy was high unprofitable for the company(it was clearly not..). They are able to apply this clause automatically and increase your owner's participation. In 99.9% of the cases it is guaranteed that you will spend much more money with your premiums than what you will get back in claims over a period of years. The company will try to make a profit with every... Read More

Very poor customer service. Was cut off in mid sentence of asking a question regarding an unpaid claim for a chronic illness. Cancelling this policy.
