Overall Rating: 3.8 / 5 (Very good)

FamilyTime is loaded with features, some of them quite unique, like alerts for when a teen is speeding, a pick-up button that gives children an easy way to tell parents where they are, and a way to bank phone time for later use. In addition, comprehensive filtering and blocking features enable parents to protect their children and stop them from wandering into dangerous content through search engines. We recommend FamilyTime as a parental control software alternative for anyone who doesn't mind the lack of social media monitoring and the mixed customer feedback.

FamilyTime Features & Services

Features & Services - 4.2 / 5

FamilyTime offers an impressive list of features, including phone scheduling, selective app blocking, and some truly unique services like “SpeedAlert,” which lets parents set a speed limit and alerts them if the teen drives over it. The app is able to filter and block offensive material on the internet, which is a big problem for most parents. Parents can also block content that includes specific keywords. FamilyTime does not feature social media monitoring, however, which is somewhat dissapointing.

Heed the warnings. I went to log and and claimed the 20% discount. As soon as you log on that way, they say that since you used a promotion, they cannot refund! This is the worst policy. If you want to try free, make sure you DO NOT sign up with a code. Even if you have a valid reason to cancel, you will not get full refund. This policy is a joke and a scam. Try another parental app! BTW- the app doesn't let you turn off or set limits for individual apps so it was useless to me. I tried to cancel immediately after setting up and they refused.

Unfortunately it does not work "seamlessly" with iOS. Most of the monitoring and filtering are not available on iOS due to (in their words) Apple's privacy issues. This is not mentioned on the web site. After trying to make it work and speaking with tech support, I requested a refund and was told because I had chosen some kind of "discount" rate, I wasn't allowed the free trial so there was no refund (??!). Of course, it was their discount code on their web site with no mention that it was non-refundable. On an iPhone, it basically does location finding (which I couldn't make work either because it kept wanting me to set up more areas) - which can be done with Apple Find My app and Google... I paid for the 1 year 2019 of service and then cancelled my account just to have the re-new it for 2020 and I've been told they are working on it to give me a refund and yet, still nothing! I've now been working on this for over a month and they are just giving EXCUSE after EXCUSE, and the same BS each and every time. Over it. I'm going to dispute it with my Credit Card company.

I tried the free trial but the reports didn't work so I opted out of the subscription yet they still charged me. I contact them the same day and they said they would issue me a refund. I have almost four month now contacting them and they keeping giving me excuses saying they are working on it. Don't waste your time or money on this app.

I paid for one year of their service in December of 2018. The app didn't work correctly on one of my children's cell phones, so I told them to just cancel the service. I did NOT ask for a refund for that year. A year later... I was checking my credit card bill for December 2019 and saw that they billed me for another year!!! I contacted their customer support email that very same day, asking them to cancel my service and give me a refund for this new charge. After all, I hadn't used the service at all during the previous year that I paid for. It is now February 7th and I've contacted them a dozen times since then, and they still have NOT given me a refund! They are ROBBING... Read More
