This is our third time moving in NYC (Manhattan) and Big Ben's Moving and Storage company made it the best move yet. Due to a hectic travel & work schedule, we were totally unprepared and couldn't pack much of our 1200 sq. ft apartment. Big Ben's team arrived at 9:30AM and immediately packed the entire apartment and began the move. By 12:30PM much of the apartment was already done. They packed by room and clearly labelled every item thoroughly. It made the move so much easier and set us up for success in our new apartment.
We could not be more disappointed with our experience with Big Ben's Moving and storage. Because of high ratings on websites, we went with them. First, the sale was a hard sale, with 2 people taking turn calling us several days to sign contract even though we told them we were taking several bids from other movers and would contact them shortly. The salesmen marked our stuff way less, all the area rugs were marked small even though I corrected them, for example, and I told them to correct some other items but they said it was not a problem. BB's said they estimated about 60 boxes, while another (American Van) said the same description of stuff would be about 90 boxes. I ended up... Read More
Movers are notoriously known for their bad reputation- from charging extra to boxes going missing. Not with a company like Big Ben's moving and storage though. I hired them for my move last week. I was honestly expecting them to be just like every other moving company. I even told my husband not to put all our expensive valuables in the same box. They charged quite reasonably which made me fear for a much larger final bill. The crew arrived on time and packed everything carefully. I was so happy with the experience my family and I received this past Saturday. We had Mitch as the team leader and the entire team was so accommodating and professional. They were nonstop all day and put all of the furniture and our belongings exactly where we wanted it. They came highly recommended to me through friends and family and we would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a seamless move.
I just recently used this company for my move, I was very happy with them. They are reliable, on time and reasonable with their costs. A straight hourly rate with no hidden costs. The three guys that did my move were courteous, capable, friendly and extremely helpful. I wish I had gotten their names because they were very good in taking care of my belongings and were exceptional at assisting me with all my questions and concerns. If I need movers again I would definitely use them and I recommend them to everyone.
I couldn’t be any happier with the services I received trom Big Ben’s moving and storage. I had very heavy delicate and fragile items that I needed delivered to my new home and this company was great in handling that. Not only were they on time with the shipment, but they were very courteous and respectful. I would definitely recommend this moving company to anyone and I will also be using them again in the future!
Big Ben's movers arrived early to the house and introduced themselves. They were polite and professional. After a brief survey of what I had to move, they immediately got to work and it was almost like magic seeing all the pieces of furniture and other objects disappear from the house and become securely packed into their truck! On the drive to the new house, the driver followed all speed limits and even signaled at turns! How many people have you seen do that? They moved me in January and worked smart as they filled up one large unit to fill up with boxes and rolled that out the truck and loaded. They worked fast, no games, stayed within my budget and tipped them as well. They were a referral from a customer of mine and after I used them I referred to another customer of mine and she had a positive experience as well. I use to do inside sales for a local moving company and I know all the other movers and how they operate. Big Ben's are the only moving company I would recommend. They don't need to play games and do the old bait and switch on you because they went to another job after they finished my move. Hardworking!
Moving is never easy but with the right company it can be much less of a headache. Both my spouse and I work full time, with two kids. So we really wanted a company that could offer more than just moving. We wanted help packing so we didn't need to take extra days off before the move. While getting ready to move we also were looking around online for storage facilities. My younger brother and his girlfriend were moving to the area and needed furniture. The goal was to move about 70% of everything in our apartment then put the rest in storage so my brother could move it into his place when he got settled. We moved from Texas to California. I had called and talked to Mitch at the office about 3 weeks prior. I gave a list of what we were about to move. Of course we ended up with more items than what I expected. He gave us a flat rate, and when I realized I had more items than what I had initially estimated, I knew there will be a bill increase. To my surprise the moving crew that came out , was amazing and finished loading and unloading at the same time Mitch had originally estimated, no increase in cost. We are super happy, and the moving crew was very nice too. If you need movers, use these guys
