I have been a TruGreen customer for a year and will not be renewing my services next year. My lawn got worse under their “care” and it ended up being more expensive than my regular Lanscaper as I had to have them come save my lawn at the end of the season. My main concerns: 1. You have no real control or guarantee that they deliver treatment / service as you expect. They subcontract to different firms that has no incentive to maintain the customer relationship, so they will use less applications than required as the sub-contractors are not held accountable for outcome. 2. True green lawn service is acceptable until your lawn has a problem. Once they realize that there is a problem they do everything they can not to fix it appropriately by cutting costs and then once the customer is so frustrated with the situation to the point that the customer quits they put the blame on the customer. . PS there call-center customer reps are hit or miss I had one making jokes at me when I was super frustrated about how poorly lawn looked. When I said I was not finding this funny he hung up. Oh and the healthy lawn guarantee is just marketing BS.
Nearing the end of first year with them and my lawn is WORSE than when we started - weeds everywhere and they burned what grass I did have... no communication, no effort to resolve
Make sure your home when they come in to do a service, otherwise they generally won’t even roll the hose out or walk on the lawn.
BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, POOR COMMUNICATION, BAD MANAGEMENT I have been a Tru-Green customer for 3 years along with several people in my neighborhood. I am upset after talking with a local Tru-Green Manager, Bruce (Irmo, SC) My first question, which still has not been answered, is why have my treatments changed this year from all spray to all pellets? I would like a clear answer besides the answer I that I received from Bruce which was, "because someone higher up decided that it was good." I will say that the answer came with an attitude. I was looking for weed control on our newbought house lawn. I talked to Justin of Trugreen who told me the weeds can be taken care of no problem, although he didnt see it (I told him to come over, he said he can see our lawn on google maps). He also said, if it doesnt work you dont need to pay. We had the house inspection done in the winter and the grass was in that spot not level. I asked him if he could fix it. He said he would send a machine in what could do that. Absolutely the worst customer service !!! They will call to sell more services but will not call back if there is an issue with your lawn. My lawn now has more weeds than it has ever had since I started with TruGreen or should it be TruWeed !!!! My advise stay clear of this company.
Hired them and they burnt half my lawn in less than a month. I now have large yellow patches and missing grass ☹️
Update: Yellow patches gone and now just dirt. They killed my lawn
For a number of years I used services of TruGreen to maintain the lawn and bushes around my house. In a spring I would get a call from a representative of the company, I would explain what I expected them to do; they would promise me to get the results and I would send them checks. Unfortunately I was quite dissatisfied how my lawn look like and during 2018 season talked to technicians a number of times to express my dissatisfaction with the results – yellow and barren spots, uncontrolled weeds, etc. After the 2018 season I decided not to engage TruGreen anymore and hire some local firm to deal with my lawn, so when I received a communication from TruGreen offering to engage them for... If I can choose, I will give them a minus 5!! This company is a total joke. I have their service for several years, and their service qualities just keeps getting worse. Missing application appointments was already common in the past years, but this year it is becoming totally ridiculous. I have an application that they scheduled originally a month ago, and after a whole month, and 5 (FIVE) scheduled appointments, it still has not been done. This is the Matawan NJ branch of TruGreen by the way. The phone app is also a joke. It will tell you they are coming on a particular day in the morning, but it keeps delaying and delaying and then the day is over. Calling their customer service... Read More
