Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Claim was denied. because a hot water system was rusty! A system would have to be brand new to have even a little to no rust. Then it would be covered by the manufacturer, & I wouldn't need CHW.

watch out for the fine prints! they do not cover a/c leaks. That is fine but if the leak can not be repaired, then now you will have to pay for the part replacement. In my case, it is the evaporator and the technician's report explained that it can not repaired but because it was a leak, I am on my own.. no home warranty. I recorded the whole conversation and it is impressive the lack of care for the customer. They stuck on the leak part of it and now I am not covered for this a/c issue. DO NOT BUY THIS WARRANTY.... I should upload the conversation so new customer can experience what coming their way if they get this company warranty

This is a horrible company, I truly don’t understand how they have a five star status , there customer service is horrible there service is not how the sale person pitches to you to buy, yes you can file a claim and get someone sent to your home for repair, it’s what happens through the process , you appliances will not be fixed according to them , trust me you will have to come more out of your pocket cause they will only allow a small fee for the repair to go toward you actually having to pay for the repair yourself , and god forbid you try an cancel they put you through the ringer . Your information is actually completely inaccurate regarding coverage limits: “For heating or cooling equipment (hvac), the repair/replacement allowance is $3000. For appliances, plumbing and electrical (non-heating or cooling) the repair/replacement allowance is $500. For additional coverage options the repair/replacement allowance is $400”

If I had to choose between jumping in a tank with 100 sharks, 40 electric eels, and 10 killer whales or doing business with Select Home Warranty, I’d choose the tank. You’ve been warned. Please note that all positive reviews you read on this post are from peoples initial customer service experience and the low price…That is the point. They have to be nice and affordable to get your business. Read the comments of the people that actually had to file a claim. Don't be fooled.

Have you ever heard of ‘Bait and Switch’? Well, I ‘ve had plumbers come out and increased their prices and stated additional work was needed to complete the task at hand. Select warranty agreed and I had to pay much more than agreed upon.

I have had an experience beyond terrible with Select Home Warranty. Do not use them. And trying to cancel my policy took three separate tries, with over a dozen attempts to persuade me to continue. It was only when I starting crying (I faked it) did the person relent and process my cancellation. Prior to that I had waited 5 days for Select to find a provider to service my furnace. When they confessed they could not find anyone and said I should go ahead and find someone myself , it took me 10 minutes. The bill was $600 and Select said they would pay only $400 because they did not cover labor but parts only. This is not how the contract reads.

I have submitted 3 claims over 3 years for different items. All 3 have been DENIED and when you call for help it is an operator from outside of the country with limited English. The claims administrators look for verbiage in the technicians report to deny liability.

I’m giving them one star less than one star this company is not even worth it they lie about it it’s been six weeks they have not fixed my washer dryer. I don’t know why this company is 9.2 rating. I complain to Better Business Bureau. No manager had returned the call they don’t give a damn about it, they lie about you they ordered the wrong part and they want more money from you out-of-pocket. This is the worst company did not believe this company at all. They want me to pay our pocket to fix the machine $400 and my budget is $500 under the policy. They giving me only $200 reimbursement and the machine is still not fixed.

Don't ever use Select Home Warranty. I don't want other people to struggle like me when the repair is needed the most and find out that it is not covered. Before I purchased the policy with Select Home Warranty, I checked and made sure what was covered and not. Since most of the home warranty have a max. coverage, I made sure that there is enough cost to cover the central AC, roof leak, major appliances repair, etc. The salesperson even modified max. cap as $11,000 in my contract. The fact that this company has any stars is unbelievable! I called to inquire about specific types of coverage only to be met with a rude, condescending and unprofessional agent! Someone is stacking the ratings because I see that I am not the only person to get such a bad first impression. I WILL NOT be doing business with this company. You may want to train your agents about what true customer service is and what it means why a "hard or aggressive" technique will get you no where!

I called to inquire about their policies. The man was rude, and just wanted my credit card number. He didn’t want me asking questions. Even got huffy when in the first 1-2 minutes I wouldn’t give him my credit card number. I had to hang up on him. FRAUD!!!

If i could give this company zero stars I would! They were horrible. Poor customer service and they just read scripts instead of actually figuring out an issue. I requested to cancel three times and it’s like they’d hold you hostage and drain all your money while the “loyalty department” tried to make it right. I was told they would lower my monthly payment and my service fee- that was a lie. I did a claim and paid a higher service fee than provided… they said they would refund the fee but never did. How this company got a high rating I don't know, They tell you one thing and do something else. I was told I could pick my own repairman but when I submitted the claim they refused to pay. Said I had to get preapproval and use their repair people. I specifically asked about repairs and was told not to worry cause I could submit claim after my repair was done by the person I wanted. Talk about fraudulent practices. I am letting the BBB know about this company. Don't waste your money on this company. They are not worth it.

Shady Company, they promise that I could bundle multiple issues and now that I have multiple issues, they are saying that I can't bundle the issues now and do one service plan. This company is fake and make promises they can't keep. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. Their rates might be cheap but service is HORRIBLE I have multiple properties with them it's really BAD!

This company is the worst, a scam. I would give them a 5 minus star of available. Two of my gas stove eyes went out. The contractor they sent could fix one of them. I called select and they said they did not get the report from the contractor and to call back in ten days. I called back in seven days and they told me I had to file another claim and pay another 75.00 deductible. I had roof leak coverage, I called 5 different times and was told they did not have a roofer available and to find a roofer and I would be reimbursed. No roofer wanted to deal with them.
