I made a few claims. 2/3 of them I had to call back to ensure that the technician would be on time and the other one was without incident. The repair crew came and generally seem very knowledgeable and I say this because one of those companies had to come back for a follow up to make an additional fix. They were very good for me just now great.
Politely I declined to go with the platinum plan in lieu of the gold plan. I have been called every now and again to upgrade but I keep saying that I am happy with the service with gold and the upgrade is not worth it for me.
A little disorganized when handling my claim. 3 days for a bathroom leak is to long. The plumber who came was the saving grace. He was excellent. 2 hours to change a copper pipe and very neatly done.
I purchased Select Home Warranty in November 2017 after being disappointed in the previous Home Warranty company I had used for several years. On or about 2-7-2018, I filed my first claim. My premium has been paid in full the for entire year of 2018 plus 2 months into 2019. I had to initiate a follow up call as I had received no call or e-mail concerning my claim. At that time, I was passed off to a rep and answered questions that did not seem pertinent to the issue of a broken garbage disposal. I was assured I would receive an e-mail and all would be handled. Friendly staff, good on the phone, take a 4 days to find and approve a claim, work was don't well. overall a good warranty provider.
My garage door chain broke, it took the guy they sent literally 15 minutes to fix. He did a good job, I am sure he was professional thats why but with a almost $50 deductible it should have been free.
3.75 stars is enough for this company. I have had this warranty now for 2 years. The beginners cost of $400 for the year is pretty cheap and they do cover work being done but I have only made 3 claims and each one the process was slow ranging from a week to a week and a half.
There good-Some delays in handling my plumbing claim and payments at first and after I called back twice everything was sent and paid out to me.
Streamlined web system, service call fast and great help when asking very detail oriented questions. Policy order was 36 hours and repair was done in an hour. Reference: my garage door.
I maybe critical but when I have to call back three times to get an appointment it gets really cumbersome. It took 3 days to get a technician to repair the water heater. Repair was done on a Saturday and was a 3 hours ordeal. Nice job was done on that and the tech should be commended.
3 factors made me decide to give Select Warranty a very good rating. They had a good network, not great but good. They need to get more sponsors in my area. The phone service was slow to answer. The technician was on time and his work was better than expected and has been running so far through the winter.
I wrote this review because of the 3 times I called them, only once they sent me a plumber. The calls were very friendly with short hold times. The one plumber found a cracked pipe under the house and unwelded and put a new pipe cast in an hour.
There is no good comments because this company is dishonest. They do not pay your claims. All they do is take your money. When you file a claim the stall and are so difficult to work with you finally give up. I have been 9 days without hot water. I have nothing good to say but will forewarn others on every site possible.
I'm not sure who these people are with the positive reviews but I find Select Home Warranty to be very passive and of little help in getting a service company to my home when a repair is needed. To me it seems they use vendors who will fill an order when there's nothing else to do. I don't feel like SHW is on my side. I am currently waiting for a plumber to fix a backed up sink and dishwasher and have been waiting for 5 days. Each time I call SHW they tell me something different. Now I'm told it will be another 24 hours. As it is now Friday I don't anticipate any resolution until next week.
Trust me who ever is posting that y'all r one of the best company out there is wrong . Y'all r the worst. Pls do not do not get a policy from them check BBB it will tell u how man angry clients have been screwed over like me. I been waiting 3 weeks for my appliance to get fix. Every time I call they tell me pls allow another 24 to 48 hrs. They don't have enough contractors in my area. Waiting for avail. It's only a dishwasher. Go to Total protection they r the best.
My mom and 3 kids live with me and I opted for a warranty to protect the home. Glad that SHW is around, they picked 2 great companies in my area to come and repair things for me and the staff on call is very helpful. thanks
We feel that the cost of the warranty is fair at $499 for our double family home. Downstairs they have came and looked the gas range and ensured it has good function and up here they were good working on the washing machine. Both done on same day. 1 year customer
We find with having two kids that having a plan with Select saves us the aggravation when accidents and mishaps happen which has happened twice with things breaking from "wear and tear" without this protection, we would have lost a good deal of money.
REALLY impressed that they actually listened to my problems, called me back and had a plan on how to deal with it. Recommend that you have more phone staff so wait times aren't more than 10 minutes, gets long.
three years ago my real estate agent recommended me Select Home Warranty and I have been a customer ever since. The house came equipped with fairly new appliances. it only took a year before they started giving me problems. first was the dish washer, followed by microwave and lastly the oven. each repair was covered and they did a pretty great job.
I am retired and on a very fixed budget with my wife. My platinum care package was $500 and it has since saved me the chores of finding a roofer and a plumber. They covered the repairs and I just had to pay the deductible of $45. Henry
My advice is to get a good deal with them when you first signup. I haggled them and only pay $35 a month and if I add up the estimate of costs they paid out I am finding an amazing value. My fridge and freezer alone was worth it.
Rating select great is easy after the past 2 weeks of arranging a replacement garage door at their cost less my deductible. My yearly rate plus deductible saved me a good $400 on the replacement and they were very easy going about it and sending me a check in 30 days. Kudos.
Not bad, I think what makes the deal not so perfect is the cost of the $60 service call fee. When I had my oven issue and I added the cost for that month with my monthly fee it seemed a little much. On the pluser side the work was done professionally and I am happy after all these months with its continued functioning.
I am totally enthralled with the replacement of my water heater. I am so glad that Select warranty is only $60 a month and protects me where the insurance company would not!
