If I could give no stars I would. This is the worst health insurance company I have ever had. I have had a claim almost 2 years old that they have continued to deny even though my coverage clearly shows that it is covered and my doctors office submitted all the paperwork and documents and records they asked for multiple times. They are useless and do not cover what they say they do. The only reason I still have them is because I'm limited by what my employment offers, I cannot afford to buy health insurance without going through my employer. Terrible company. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I joined UHC for a few reasons, hearing aid assistance being one. UHC offers two resources: EPIC and HealthInnovations. I opted for EPIC because it appears that HealthInnovations does not sell name brand hearing aids and also I wanted my hearing test performed in an office by an audiologist. I contacted EPIC to set up an appointment and it was only upon my questioning the background qualifications of the person conducting the hearing test that I was told by the EPIC receptionist this person only held an EPIC certificate. I contacted UHC regarding this situation and was told there was nothing UHC could do and that is why there are two ways of obtaining hearing aid assistance being... Read More

Quite easily the worst health insurance I have ever had. Be forewarned, if you live in a market that does not have a heavy concentration of United HealthCare subscribers, your experience may be like mine, with inadequate access to reasonable healthcare without excessive out-of-network expense, and an insurance company unwilling to negotiate with local providers. This applies to our children as well. While we have a robust medical community in our town, who indicate that UH is unwilling to reasonably negotiate, and must travel 30-60 miles for covered in-network care. Your life will be spent trying to battle for "gap exceptions" and UH will make the process as convoluted and difficult as... Read More

January 1 2019 United Cobra Services took close to $500 out of my account even though I'd enrolled in a different health plan. I still don't have my money back. I've spent hours on the phone with representatives. They've straight up lied to me. Lies about how they were going to refund the money back to my checking account, lies about sending the refund to my former employer, lies about the employer sending the check out to me last week. I am truly disgusted with this company. How can a healthcare organization be so careless?

The worst company in the business. I have paid my own bills from the beginning on top of paying them monthly for them to pick up the bills or least partially. Nothing !!!!! was covered but the they sure found justification for everything. On top of that not one dime....which was thousands of dollars I paid, went to out of pocket costs. I've had some crappy healthy insurance but this by far takes the cake. Currently in debt. Thank you UHS. I would not nor ever recommend this company. If your employer uses them, I suggest you are better off getting you own. I finally have. While not the best, My new insurance outshines this horrible company by far. I give one star because I am required... Read More

Attention Women With Breast Cancer...UHC is NOT behind women with Breast Cancer and will fight you every step of the way NOT to pay when you have exhausted every provider they insist you see. I thought our company had excellent coverage and pay a very high price for it for each of us and now to only learn when it comes down to pay for services they will run the other way...Even our insurance broker is at a loss for words as to how I have been treated with my breast cancer...To the point where we have had to file a formal complaint with the Virginia Bureau of Insurance and the Virginia Department of Health!!! UHC will continue to put you through more hell then just the hell of your cancer... Read More

Your health "insurance" is a joke. The booklet you send to customers you insure is written in a misleading and deceitful way. Per the UHC booklet: Coinsurance percentage: preventative services (teeth cleaning) from network providers is 100% and for non-network providers is 100%, the definition of coinsurance percentage per your booklet is the percentage of covered expenses that are payable by us. Yet I went to a non-network provider and you alls 100% turned into about 40%. Even though it is written EXACTLY the same for non-network and network providers, you all claim it has two different meanings. This insurance is a rip-off and reminds me of the insurance company from the movie "The... Read More
