Some of the Things Included with Plans Provided Through HealthCare.com

All four "metal" categories of Obamacare plans offered through HealthCare.com partners provide the same ten essential health benefits (EHBs) as established by the Affordable Care Act. These ten medical services are as following:

Emergency services
Rehabilitative or habilitative services and devices
Prescription drugs
Outpatient care
Hospitalization
Maternity and newborn care
Chronic disease management, preventative care, and wellness services
Laboratory services
Pediatric services
Mental health and substance disorder use

There is no cap on coverage for these essential health benefits. They also have no annual or lifetime limits.

Types of Plans

The four "metal" plans are essentially identical, offering the amount and kinds of coverage. Where they do differ is in value; each type of plan will pay for a different percentage of your healthcare costs. So while Bronze plans may have lower premiums, they will only cover 60% of your healthcare–the rest will have to come out of your pocket. On the other end of the spectrum you have Platinum plans, whose premiums are considerably more expensive, but cover a whopping 90% of your total healthcare expenses.

"Metal" Tier Insurance Company Pays You Pay
Bronze 60% 40%
Silver 70% 30%
Gold 80% 20%
Platinum 90% 10%

Application

After inputing a zip code, applicants are asked to enter their date of birth, along with any spouse and dependent's date of birth. Furthermore, HealthCare.com asks for each individual's gender and tobacco use. To explore all the options an applicant can qualify for, they are then asked to indicate which "qualifying events" they have experienced in the last 60 days. These events include losing their job, getting married or divorced, moving to a new state, and others. If applicants have not faced any qualifying events, HealthCare.com recommends getting short-term health insurance. Lastly, applicants must enter their annual household income. FAQs at the bottom of each field help guide consumers throughout every step of the application process.

Once the preliminary application process is over, applicants are asked for one last set of information if they wish to see the most accurate pricing and plan details. This includes their full name, street address, email address, and phone number. When looking at their results, potential customers may filter healthcare plans by insurance carrier, monthly cost, deductible, and max out-of-pocket. They may also select plans to compare them side-by-side.

After choosing an insurance carrier, customers are redirected to one of HealthCare.com's partners where they can finish the enrollment process. Overall, HealthCare.com is extremely helpful throughout the whole application process.

In the past 3 days, starting at 5:40 AM I have received about 50 calls from this company. I have repetitively asked them to remove my name off the list and they only hang up. I have verbally fought with several of the agents already and one even told me that I was old as I was born in 1964 and he knows where I live and would come over and break my leg. This is uncalled for!

I entered my contact info on this website, thinking that it was the official website for ACA-compliant health insurance options. They are calling me 20 times a day although I told them I don't want anything from them.

healthcare.com is a total scam designed to trick people who think they are at healthcare.gov. If you fill out their form you will get endless calls from fly by night insurance resellers.

The information about HealthCare.com above is untrue. The partners begin calling immediately after you request a list of plans on their website. It is a scam. After clicking that link, my spam calls increased 200%. They will tell you that they will tell their "partners" to stop calling. But they don't stop. Then they start texting too. HealthCare.com sends your information partners of partners and lose control of your personal information. They have no direct control over the "licensed agents" telemarketers. I saw , Jeff Smedsrud, the company founder on TV talking about healthcare scams. Here's a clue - all their developers are in Guatemala. What do they know about healthcare in the... Read More

I wanted information on affordable healthcare in my area. I wanted an online quote and instead I got an immediate phone call to which I was told that there were no plans for my budget in the area. I thanked them and hung up. I now get 5 - 15 phone calls a day asking if I need health insurance. I do but I guarantee I won't be going through anyone who cold calls me. That is 100% scam potential. Lately they don't say anything but just hang up on me. Today I decided to call back. The gentleman knew my name before I even spoke. He asked if I needed health insurance. I told him politely to stop calling me. He said I've never called you but I will put you on the do not call list. Well thank you.... Read More

I changed my insurance as of January 1st 2019 to ambetter Silver Summit. In the first ten days I have had nothing but problems with them. My doctor wrote a prescription for me for pain medication. I've had chronic pain for over 10 years I've also been on pain medication for over 10 years. With this new insurance they denied my prescription, even after my doctor called them and told them that this was something that I desperately needed. I would advise anybody thinking about signing up for ambetter Silver Summit to look somewhere else!
