Overall Rating: 4.1 / 5 (Excellent)

WalletHub is one of the better free credit reporting applications. The main differentiator here is the daily credit score and credit report. As far as we know, no other free credit reporting service does this. The company also does a really good job showing you in a clear, personalized, and easy to understand way exactly what factors are contributing to your credit score. However, when compared to applications like Mint which get into the minute transaction details of all your accounts, WalletHub is more general and big picture. Be that as it may, the company has an excellent reputation among users and its real time email, text, and mobile app alerts are particularly handy.

Credit Score & Reports

Report Details and Frequency - 4 / 5

WalletHub is the only online credit reporting service we are aware of that allows you to monitor changes to your score and report on a daily basis for free. Most services, especially free services, will update you monthly or quarterly. This is of particular interest to customers wanting to break down how their activities affect their credit in the most minute detail. WalletHub provides you with your TransUnion report, so if you want to monitor your Experian and Equifax score you'll have to look elsewhere. Additionally, as with so many online credit services, WalletHub uses the VantageScore model, not the official FICO score. Although many lenders are increasingly taking the VantageScore into account, the vast majority still use the official FICO score. This is why patrons of websites like WalletHub and Credit Karma are often surprised to discover the score they got from said website does not match the score used by whichever financial institution they are dealing with to get a loan, buy a car, etc.

Monitoring & Tools

Credit Bureau & Credit Scores - 4.5 / 5

WalletHub is a great, free tool for monitoring your credit report and credit score, and learning about personal finance overall. The company's credit analysis feature is a great way for customers to learn exactly what they need to do to improve their credit score. However, you will not have the ability to see what's happening within individual accounts. WalletHub also does not offer anything in the way of identity theft protection or dispute resolution, but this is common for free services. Finally, WalletHub's alerts are excellent for a free service, as they will notify you immediately of any change to your report via whichever method you select.

WalletHub Plans & Pricing

Plans and Pricing - 4 / 5

WalletHub is a totally free service. You will not need to provide any payment information and the credit inquiries will not affect your score. However, as with similar sites, by signing up you agree that information on your creditworthiness will be passed on to WalletHub's advertisers. You will be offered financial products customized to your credit score and report. If you sign up for one of these products, WalletHub then gets paid.
Free Report Offered?

WalletHub Reputation & Support

Monitoring and Extra Features - 4 / 5

Although WalletHub has an A grade with the BBB, this is only based on one review. The company, however, has a generally favorable reputation across other review sites and a solid Trustpilot score. Since WalletHub is a genuinely free service (they ask for no credit card or for you to purchase anything) you can never be charged monthly or yearly subscription fees without your consent, a common scam with "free credit report" websites. Customers who praise WalletHub cite the free daily score, free online tools, and handy alerts through text, email, and mobile app.

Hello everyone, all thanks to PINNACLE CREDIT SPECIALIST long story short, a divorce during covid really hampered my credit. I went from the mid-700s to the 500s. I’ve been trying to work hard to get it built back up and have recently got as high as 660 on some bureaus. I recently sent dispute letters for a few items and two of them caused my score for Equifax to drop significantly. It was so disheartening. My first dispute was with Ally Financial. Last year, I had a lot of building up in one month, so I requested a payment extension for them for that month. They agreed to give me one so long as I would pay an extension fee by a due date that they’ve given. I absolutely did that right away... Read More

Destiny card opened 1 year 6 months no late payments 0 out of 300 used. Avant card opened 9 months no late payments 0 out of 300 used. Prosper opened 3 months with no late payments 350 out of 1000 used. Capital one platinum opened 1 month (new card) 400 out of 2000 used. I also had student loans for 6k together that are reaffirmed with the advantage. Not sure if reaffirmed is the right... Read More

Hi everyone, all thanks to PINNACLE CREDIT SPECIALIST. Been a long time lucker and finally gotten to where I can come to terms with my credit situation, and they’ll fix it for me. Went through a divorce and then the pandemic was rough. My score was: EQ: 516, TU: 513, EX 539 FICO 8, Inquiries: EQ2, TU:5, There was an inquiry on my TU that I don’t recognize from synchrony financial that I was asking to have removed. While in the process of beginning to tackle debt, the transmission in my car went out. I went without a car for as long as possible, before financing a car. I was able to employ PINNACLE CREDIT SPECIALIST who helped me increase my scores to EQ: 802, TU: 807, EX: 811 excellent... Read More

Hello! I’m Grace, my experience working with DOVLY CREDIT SOLUTION has been outstanding. I was at 561 Equifax, 563 TransUnion. I had 1 collection a year 2 months with a balance of 585, 2 charge offs one at BOA CC at $1,228 closed June 22 was still being reported as of 01/24, SYNCB/PP at $1534 closed on 07/22 last reported Dec 23. I was depressed, my mom had cancer, but I recently graduated college and just found a decent paying job. Didn’t know what step to take to get my credit back on track. I was introduced by my realtor agent Daniel. I must confess I had a bad experience in the past with different agencies trying to clear my credit. I have gained good credit ever since I started... My credit score was in the low 500’s before I found JerryLink Credit Group. They were able to remove the negative items (Judgment, collections, inquiries, card debt) that were dragging me down and allowed me to purchase a new car for my family with a score over 800 in just a week! I think Mr. Jerry and his team are currently the best in terms of credit repairs. You can reach out to them via mail: JERRYLINKGROUP at GMAIL dot COM, thank me later.

In Oct-Nov I rented a storage unit from public storage with the intention of it being held for a month. In December I left for vacation. The situation changed during that time so I would need it for 3-4 months. My business partner assumed I had payments handled, I assumed it was handled or on autopay and everyone just forgot about this unit that I stupidly opened under my personal name. Account was never placed on autopay; the rep opened the account and put the wrong phone number when we signed up and all emails ended up in our assistant’s spam box. Long story short, the unit was auctioned and a couple hundred dollars’ worth of debt in fees etc. were accumulated besides the 2 months that... Read More

I had a $400 fresh account with Fingerhut, after realizing the amount of interest they were charging me (I didn’t know about credit at the time), I decided to close the account. I called the customer service phone number and requested the representative to close the account. Monday, January 8, 2024, I decided to check my credit report and noticed it has been open since 2020. Called the Fingerhut collection department regarding the account. How is it currently reporting open if I closed it in 2016? There’s a remaining balance of $495. My credit score was 502. I felt horrible and embarrassed. But my friend James introduced me to DOVLY CREDIT SOLUTION, a credit repair company and they helped... Read More

Hi all! I’m 29 years old. My credit started to tank around 2021 when expenses were outpacing my income. I got a lot of loan offers and foolishly took them, adding more expenses to my income. Didn’t help that I was in a relationship with someone who I greatly outnumbered and took on the burden of the bills to seem fair. Won’t be doing that again. I had a lot of collections and charge-offs from personal loans and CCs. From looking at my Experian I had several charge-offs that became collections and few that didn’t. Which all brought down my credit score to a low 586 score. I needed advice on rebuilding my score back to 700s. DOVLY CREDIT SOLUTION came through for me, my credit report cleaned... Read More
