Short review: IMG doesn't give clear explanations and takes forever to get back to you. Squaremouth initially talks a good game but in the end wouldn' t even respond any more to our queries. We will not be using either company for future travel insurance. Long review: My wife and I are frequent travelers and routinely take out travel insurance for our trips. I have used squaremouth.com for several years and it identified IMG iTravelInsured as our best option for several trips. Of course, you don't know if your insurance is any good until you actually need it... That takes us to a cruise from NJ to Iceland in Aug'22. My wife got COVID the last day of the cruise. Sadly, after years of buying travel insurance on Squaremouth I have found out the hard way that this is just one more legal insurance scam. How can an insurance company say they provide trip interruption insurance and then say they won't cover it because they didn't specifically list an airport closure due to an airplane crash. Really? Yep, that's the kind of company this is. Won't be using you again.

Here was my response to them after their refusal to cover a flight cancellation where I had no choice but to purchase additional tickets to get home on the last leg of an international flight: "If your policies are anything other than deceptive, I am completely blind. The face page / summary of this policy clearly states that you provide coverage with a Trip Delay of a minimum of 6 hours with no mention of a 48 hour complete cessation of service requirements. In my book, that makes your company a lying, cheating, misrepresenting bunch of crooks. I shouldn’t have to read the fine print to find out how you plan to get out of your commitment for coverage. SHADY Business something fierce! Travel delay 7 months ago incurred hundreds of dollars lost, submitted claim and was sent $35 per person to cover it.. yeah, that doesn't even remotely cover the delay. They will put you through the ringer and wait until they exhaust you in hopes you won't make them work it. DO NOT USE

I found Squaremouth to be very helpful in comparing quotes and policies for many different insurance companies. Unfortunately I discovered quite by accident that their quote was quite a bit higher than if I book directly with the insurance company. I hate to use a service and then not give them my business, but it didn't make financial sense to spend so much more money when I could book directly for a lot less once I had chosen my plan.

Called Squaremouth and asked for assistance, (Nationwide travel insurance not responding to my travel claim, over a mouth, no response. ) Spoke to Venus L. at Squaremouth . She told me Squaremouth does not have a Squaremouth Zero Complaint Guarantee. Then I read her below: Her response, we don't do that. I found Squaremouth to be very helpful. I had to cancel trips due to major health issues and after reaching out to the insurance company Squaremouth helped expedite the refund. The insuance company dragges their feet, what was 6 weeks b3came 3 months. Squaremouth was easy to talk to and quickly resolved the delays. I will use them again.
