Watch their quotes it is about half the price as it will be when they start loading. They try to get the cheap movers tell you have to question them. They will not have your back when the movers show up and give you a different price. Use someone else.
Worse experience ever! I thought I was dealing with a reputable company but after they got their money (twice because the had to adjust for size of truck) I got no help whatsoever! Spoke to one customer service girl who was nice but can’t help me once my stuff was loaded. It’s now sitting in a warehouse and I have no definitive arrival date. I’m a senior citizen and my husband is a disabled vet. They don’t care. They got their substantial fee and that’s it. We have a blow up mattress and two folding chairs. Shame on them.
THE RATING IS FAKE -- DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY Absolutely terrible. Do not rely on the online ratings. After detailing all the items in my one bedroom apartment, I received an estimate and scheduled the service based on that estimate. I was moving 1500 miles away to a residential house. When the contracted movers arrived, they eyeballed the apartment, and increased my estimate by a couple hundred dollars. I accepted and signed their new estimate. Later, they realized they had forgotten some kind of bundling fee for my wooden furniture, which would result in a 33% increase in the total cost of the move - after I had signed. Unreliable, dishonest, uncaring I had the same experience as anyone before on them upselling their services, being very nice before you sign and pay, and at the end, when you are dissatisfied, referring to everything s "an estimate", "still within the allowed timeline". When I wanted to cancel the service, they gaslighted me into keeping it (we spent 6 hours preparing your case). The estimate changed twice: first a couple of days before delivery, then on the day of the delivery even though I wasn't moving the bed. The movers did not have tools. My stuff was supposed to arrive within 7 business days. When I was calling for updates, they told me they don't have any and then told me this... Read More
Agree DO NOT USE THEM !! BE WARNED !! Same experience on the cost. My husband is USN Retired needless to say we made many many moves. This experience was the absolute worst we have ever had to deal with. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING they tell you !! The cost was atrocious, nearly everything was ruined or broken. They even took the bolts needed to put furniture back together. They left items that were to be sent on the truck . Our son retrieved the boxes and furniture left and put in storage. Our daughter flew back to California, rented a UHaul, with help got our possessions out of storage and is bringing them to us in Texas. My sister and her husband were here when our possessions... The absolute worst moving company I have ever used. DO NOT USE THEM. It is a scam; they will give you a low quote and then drastically increase the price. They more than doubled the price of the move, the MORNING OF the move itself, leaving me in a very vulnerable and time crunched situation. They charged me $15K for a 1 bedroom house move - saying I was grossly overcharged is an understatement. Then, when I called Safe Ship customer service, they had washed their hands of me saying, essentially, "too bad, call the carrier". My experience matches what others here have said. Initial quote 16000, ended up paying 27000. Mover used 3 trucks to move out, then two trucks to deliver to my new house. When I questioned the fact that I was obviously overcharged by $6000 since the billed cu ft exceeded the maximum payload of the two trucks, I was told that there was a "third load" and I would need to pay immediately or else the truck would leave. I paid, they unloaded, and no "mystery third load" existed. Straight up scammers.
This company needs negative stars. We had over $15,000 in damages to our furniture and spent $23,000 for services after initially being quoted $11,000. Then it went to $17,000 until the actual movers showed up and said it's $23,000, take it or leave it. Of course, we had to be out by the end of the day. It's a scam!
I obtained a quote from them 3 weeks before my scheduled move date. Gavin, the salesmen, told me he'd get me a great deal that was really close to the same price as renting a u-hual. He told me that I could triple the size of my load and the price wouldn't change. Original quote was $2,500. They sent me an email the week of my move and we went over my inventory list again. Suddenly they wanted $3,700 to move me and I added a few items but did not triple the size of my load. It barely even doubled. Do not use this company. They came and took our belongings and kept on going. They did contact us and told us we could have our belongings for $20,000 probably after going through them . We did contact the police but these people are slick and the police told us to go to small claims court. They took all of our pictures, AQHA all around trophies, 14 AQHA trophy buckles, a $10,000 silver show saddle and all silver bridles and halters that I can’t replace. They took everything from our house leaving us with nothing. This includes furniture, clothes and kitchen appliances. I will never be able to replace my belongings.
