MASA Assist is an emergency medical transportation provider that offers its service through a membership program. The company's programs are designed to offset the staggering cost of medical transport (particularly air transport) that could be incurred in an emergency. MASA members pay a yearly fee and one time signup fee, and are then covered should a situation arise that they need emergency transportation.

Services are mainly located in the western hemisphere covering the USA, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean and nearby areas. Aside from offering medical air transport for members, MASA Assist also provides ground ambulance and helicopter transportation.

Coverage

MASA Assist offers three coverage options depending on where you live. All plans have a one-time $60 signup fee.

BASIC - $240 for one person and $360 for the family.

MASA's Basic plan is available to residents of the Bahamas, Bermuda, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Turks and Caicos, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the British Virgin Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago.

This plan is essentially the Basic plan but comes with direct emergency air transport to the United States as well.

PLATINUM - $540 for one person and $720 for the family.

For residents of the US, Canada and Mexico. MASA's  Platinum plan covers customers worldwide. If you require emergency transport MASA's network will get you to the nearest appropriate medical facility regardless of where you are in the world.

I purchased Masa for my Mom when I flew her from a nursing home in CA to one in TX. I wanted to make sure that my Mom's remains would be transported back to her home, when she passed. My Dad is buried there and she had a spot next to him. When the time came to use it, Masa took care of everything. I was contacted to coordinate and all I had to do was travel to CA for her funeral. They took so much concern away from me. So, when I got an opportunity to do it, I purchased a lifetime membership to MASA. I also travel, so it was important to me. Thank God, I have never had to use it but my best friends know I have it and where the card is, just in case. Having it gives me total peace... Read More

MASA is a company that has been around for decades; however, it is growing and revamping itself currently. There is a lot of opportunity for those who are smart, work hard, and have a good attitude. There also is great work-life balance. Management is innovative and fair. I would, and have, referred friends to work at MASA.

My mistake was going to one of their sales pitches at a local restaurant. I left after 2 hours when I found out how expensive they are. I received a phone call and explained to the woman I could not afford it. She then started the pressure sale of waiving the sign up charge and lowering the monthly amount. I again told her I couldn't afford it. Several days later I get the 2nd or 3rd call. The guy, who never identified himself or the company (I researched the phone number) addressed me by my MILs name. I told him she was deceased and how could I help him? He responded with, "I'm sorry", then under his breath said, "F*** you" following another "I'm sorry". Maybe he has tourettes and if he... I first contacted MASA after seeing a property online within my price range. My initial conversation with a gentleman called Paul, a nice chap who came across knowledgeable and genuine. After two or three conversations he suggested a viewing trip. At this point my wife Kellie was not at all keen as she had lived for 6 years in Lanzarote and in this time she had seen a load of hard sell. But I convinced her that I was not the kind of person that could be talked into something I did not want to do. This was the start of my journey with MASA. The viewing trip was thorough but very laid back with not a sign of aggressive sale. The property we chose was a new build and yet to be constructed so... Read More

My wife and I attended a MASA presentation in order to learn about medical-transportation insurance, and we found the experience useful. We were encouraged to sign up that day at the special price (which seems now to be standard practice by anyone selling anything). The presenter kindly agreed to our request for time to study MASA and the industry, and stated he would honor the introductory offer should we proceed. We did extensive due diligence--MASA, its coverage, costs, evaluations and ratings; the medical-evacuation insurance industry in general; and MASA's competition in particular. Upon conclusion, we decided that MASA made sense for us and that we would try it for five years.... Read More

READ THE REVIEWS, IGNORE THE STARS!!! Don't know how they ended up with a 3 1/2 star rating when almost all of these reviews say they are scammers (oh, yeah I do. Read the note at the top of the page. They PAY to get that rating). I'm still trying to get a refund when I ended up with a duplicate policy with MASA when I did pre-need work for my funeral. They sold me what turned out to be a MASA plan (they didn't mention the name) to ensure I would be flown home from wherever I may have died. They called MASA when I told them I already had a MASA plan, MASA told them that only I could cancel the duplicate plan. I called them to cancel it, was told to put it in writing in an email,... I believe MASA to be a scam for these reasons: (1) I have emailed my ambulance bill to them twice; (2) I have faxed the same bill to them four times, each to a different fax number, after being informed by MASA that the most recent fax number was incorrect, thus sending the bill to a different fax number; (3) the latest attempt to contact them via email was negated due to their website being down, and that was early March 2024.
