MASA Assist is an emergency medical transportation provider that offers its service through a membership program. The company's programs are designed to offset the staggering cost of medical transport (particularly air transport) that could be incurred in an emergency. MASA members pay a yearly fee and one time signup fee, and are then covered should a situation arise that they need emergency transportation.

Services are mainly located in the western hemisphere covering the USA, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean and nearby areas. Aside from offering medical air transport for members, MASA Assist also provides ground ambulance and helicopter transportation.

Coverage

MASA Assist offers three coverage options depending on where you live. All plans have a one-time $60 signup fee.

This plan is essentially the Basic plan but comes with direct emergency air transport to the United States as well.

PLATINUM - $540 for one person and $720 for the family.

For residents of the US, Canada and Mexico. MASA's  Platinum plan covers customers worldwide. If you require emergency transport MASA's network will get you to the nearest appropriate medical facility regardless of where you are in the world.

My MASA membership renewal is due. A call to the company informs me MASA lost their certification in Washington state. I never received word from the company that I would not be covered. They won't be getting any more money from me. Deceptive business practices.

I signed up for the lifetime membership not knowing that I was going to need this coverage a few months later as I had an accident that resulted in me needing an emergency transportation. When I received my bill for the transportation a few weeks later I did exactly what was told by the gentlemen who signed my family up and I sent it to MASA. Given that I sent the claim within the first 180 days the ambulance ride was covered in full as medicare denied payment. I am so happy that I took advantage of this opportunity and now that I know this company is true to their word I plan on bragging about MASA to all of my friends and extended family members. Great job and thank you Masa!

Initially, i hesitated to purchase their membership and had a consultation in their department. They respond my every single query and explained their policies and told me in which situation i will be able to get their support. Its always good to clear things in advance and now i am a member of them. I haven't used their service yet but i believe, i will get their support on time.

My wife has major heart problems and was transported by ambulance MASA said they wrote on the bill it was non emergency. She had heart surgery in April and 5 days later she also had a pace maker. She was having problems in May and had to be transported she was admitted to hospital and had surgery again in June. MASA said the ambulance people wrote it wrong. Then in Sept she has chest pains rated a 10. MASA has always been great not this time. Guess there like other companies trying to save money. We have had them for nearly 20 years I'm not going to let this rest. I'm going to contact AARP and Insurance Commissioner and anyone else I can find. I also will never use AMR again I will carry... We received a plan from them with a contract number and everything via the cemetery we used in Georgia a year ago. I reached out with the plan number to them to get ID cards for the other members. UNBELIEVABLY rude, and would not talk to me about the plan, what it covers and updating info. I had the contract number and I am a participant etc. but was awful experience on the phone. Contacted the cemetery and they advised they are no longer using MASA due to terrible customer service.

When I purchased my family Life membership with MASA in 2010 for $4,300 in Tucson. I was really misled as to what MASA really will help you with. The sales pitch promised assistance which MASA apparently does not deliver. I have been trying to contact MASA for approval to transport my disabled wife to her up to our north home for further treatment. She can not travel by commercial air or car. When I send approval requests to MASA, I only get an automated reply, saying MASA will contact you within 5 business days. I have been trying to contact MASA for weeks now with no response. Now I am forced to pay for myself private medical air transportation for what I thought all... Read More

We went to the free seminar to learn about the company. It sounded fairly good, so we were thinking about it. However we already two other Medical transport policies. When we asked the salesperson, being a pro that he was, was able to turn our positive into a negative for us and a positive for MASA. We should have known that any company that wants the first payment NOW should not be trusted. When told there was a 30 day refund policy we went ahead and signed up. Then next morning after checking our other two policies we found we did not need theirs. We called the company and was told we needed to send a letter of cancelation. Ok that sounded like it made sense so we sent it... Read More

Travel in the Caribbean, cruises and Scuba. This will give me peace of mind, that I will get the best care available and get me back home. Also drive in Atlanta traffic, so if do get in a wreck I will not have to worry about a helicopter ride to get me to the best hospital. Melissa Cumming, GA

They have not paid my husband's emergency transport bill from 5 months ago. Have tried to cancel this but no response. this is a con. How this got 3 1/2 stars is amazing. My next step is to report them for insurance fraud.
