First of all, we are truly grateful that we have not had an emergency. Recently though I received an email stating that my mother's unit/alarm was showing "low battery". I live an hour and 1/2 away. When I visited last Tuesday, February 15 we tested the system. I told the person who answered the call about the "low battery", and she told me another necklace was being sent out. I did not ask for another necklace. This information was offered. I was relieved. But then on Thursday February 17, my mother received a call and she told them to call my brother. I'm pleased with the service. Fortunately, I haven't had to use it in an emergency. But I have a suggestion. For the fall detection monitor I have, the instructions say that when charging, when the light goes from red to green, it's charged. Unfortunately many men like me are color blind (women don't get it but pass the gene on to their son(s)) so I can't tell when the light changes from red to green. Several other devices I have from other manufactures say that when charging, the LED is flashing. When it stops flashing and is on solid, the battery is charged. Surely you could do the same.

Equipment works OK but customer service sucks. After my mom passed away, I called to cancel service. I was supposed to get a refund for the unused portion of the quarterly payment that I had already made, pro-rated until the equipment was returned (which is bad policy to begin with - obviously, the unit won't be used any more after someone dies!). A few weeks after returning the unit, I get another bill for the next quarter, and a threat to be reported to a collection agency! Obviously, the record-keeping and customer service is third rate.

The customer service is horrible. You can call and end up waiting on hold for hours or leave a message and get a respond a week later. I canceled my service a month ago because my father passed. They received the equipment two weeks ago. I still got charged. Before my father passed, the machine was broken and my father ended up staying on the floor for an entire night. We had tested it tonight before and it worked fine. When I called out it took three phone calls to get through to somebody. Then I got the run around I never got a new machine. I am very pleased with the quick, polite service I received when I needed it. My only problem has been that the equipment did not hold a charge. Bay Medical quickly sent me a new transponder but did not send a shipping label so I will have to pay for shipping of the faulty device

I have this system for my mother, who lives alone. It provides my whole family, piece of mind that help is only a press of a button away. My late father in law also had the same system and it was extremely helpful, as he lived on his own and had fallen a few times. We lived close, but help was there before we were!

I haven't been in a position to need medical intervention, but I have twice set off the alarm by mistake. Which was educational. The alarm was good and loud, someone at BAM inquired right away what I needed, and the operator was very polite when I explained it was a mistake (leaning too far into my freezer and pinching the necklace button). They verified my identity and confirmed that I was fine. Excellent.

When my mother-in-law, with increasing need for assistance, insisted on living by herself, we insisted that she have a medical/fall alert device. Looking at all the options other companies offered, we chose Bay Alarm Medical for her service. We have been very pleased with their services! I am 78 year old caregiver for my wife who has Alzheimer’s disease. I am comfortable to leave her alone for 1 1/2 hours while I work out at gym while I have her wear the alarm neckless. She is quite comfortable in allowing me this necessary “me time”.
