one guard past 2 years is nothing but a scam with any of the techs they call out, oh sure they will cove the item thats bad, but then ALL the techs will also find all the extra's that MUST be done or they wont replace item. Like wiring, hoses, cables, exchange fees, what ever. water heater, sure they cover a water heater, but even if you in and out hoses are in perfect condition, the scam tech in our case AV pluming says oh we need to charge you $450 for new pipes thats about $50 in materials, or they wont install it. Then another $159 to exchange the water heater thats still under warranty that one guard just replaced less than 4 years ago. see this is why all the techs LOVE the one... Read More
I've been trying to cancel my contract for over 10 days making three phones, sending an email and finally sending a paper letter as they tried to bill another month after all this delay. There is no on line option to cancel, no phone tree choice for cancellation and when talking to a service rep who speaks broken english, all she can do it send a request to the "cancellation department". After 9 days, I get an email from the cancellation department saying that my cancellation is pending and I should contact One guard to complete the cancellation. There is no special phone number to call and when I call in and get the service rep, she knows nothing of the cancellation. Clearly, this... Read More
On 6-17, I called oneguard to file a claim for a leak in my lawn irrigation system. First thing they do is charge the service fee. I was very specific on that call. The calls are recorded. Please retrieve it. I said that I was not interested in finding my own contractor. If they don't/can't handle it, then I DO NOT AUTHORIZE THE CHARGE. I was assured they had a contractor and they would come out. On 6-21 I called to check as I had yet to hear from anyone. I was again assured that I just needed to wait for the contractor. On 6-23, AS I WAS BOARDING A PLANE OVERSEAS, I received an email that read in part "as per our conversation, you are approved to find your own... Read More
The seller of my home bought me OneGuard HOW for my purchased home. The first chance I had to use was my sprinklers didn't work. The repairman showed up and called me. He said he couldn't figure it out and must be my well. I know sprinklers so I asked that he check some specific items. He said he would follow up with OneGuard and let me know the next steps. He didn't call back so I called another company and they fixed it immediately based on the symptoms I told them about. I haven't heard for the repair company and OneGuard support said they had met their obligation and there was nothing further that can be done. So I spent $75 service charge and the repairman made a couple hundred... Read More
When our AC went out here in central Texas last week we contacted One Guard - who had apparently bought out our original Home Warranty company. We were told we would get a call from the vendor or repair service the next morning - which never happened. Late that day we called One Guard back who said it would be sometime next week. After looking at supposedly "A+" reviews online with the Better Business Bureau I'm not holding my breath on getting good service. Reviews are similar to everyone else & ours here. Obviously the "pay to play" review sites are completely false about how well this company does and will mis-lead people into using this Home Warranty service.
DO NOT RECOMMEND! We have always had horrible experiences trying to even contact OneGurd let alone have them repair anything. Look up the people they contract with. Both "repair" people we finally got out were completely ridiculous and were rated with dozens of negative reviews on their Google/ Business page reviews. The first guy wanted to rip out our entire shower insert (we hired another guy we called and he just went through the wall on the other side for a fraction of the cost and repaired it perfectly.) Second time, same issue! We called to talk to them about our concerns with the tech's reputation and One Guard claimed he's the only one they work with in DFW... Sure enough they took... Read More
Today OneGuard came through for me when my A/C died. Shannon Lopez came through for me.
The contractor was extremely professional and handled everything.
I completely recommend the service to anyone who owns a home!
OneGuard's customer service is just abysmal. I've now been on hold for over 4 hours total to get a simple a/c repair. They refuse to answer the phone. Here are two screen shots of when I've given up. One over 1hr15min yesterday and currently one over 1hr45mins with no answer. It is like this EVERY SINGLE PHONE CALL now. The only reason to have these policies on my rentals is to simplify my life for small repairs. They now make it so difficult that you're better off calling the vendors directly and cancelling the policies. Further, their vendors cut corners and don't take the time to properly repair the issues. This current a/c repair person says the compressor needs to be... Read More
DO NOT CONTRACT WITH ONE GUARD. These people are scammers. I have been dealing with them for 4 weeks now trying to get a replacement AC unit which is clearly covered under the terms of our contract. I was lied to several times by people who told me that I should expect a call from a supervisor in 48 hours, then in 24 hours, then by the end of the day. I emailed the person I spoke with to remind them that I still needed a call back, but of course none came. I finally called them again, and the 4th time it suddenly became that I would get a call back from a supervisor named Britney “as soon as she is available.” The person on the phone indicated that he had sent a “message” to Britney for... One guard services standards have drastically changed to very low grade in the last one year. I have been suffering from the last 6 month and no one care dam about this. They changed compressor because in January heat was not working. I paid $500 to the company for refrigerant and $69 for a visit. After 1 and a half months when we turned on to cooing it was not cooling. Home warranty informed me that since it is beyond 30 days, I have to pay $69 visit fees which I paid. The technician told me that since the person changed the compressor didi not put refrigerant properly, I have to take it out. After a few days again it was not cooling, the schedule RPM. RPM kept changing visit time and... Read More
Terrible service. They have sent the same contractor to my home for 3 straight weeks to service the same issue. Today they called me and left a message to work to get this resolved. I called back and waited for over 30 minutes and finally spoke to someone and then they said would have to call me back. 5 hours later no call. I have now been on hold for the second time today for now 58 minutes. Always thought that their service was ok until this experience. They collect your money on time but good luck getting on-time service and even being able to speak to a person.
Horrible, called June 1, 2020, here it is 30 days later on June 29th, heat pump shot, new heat approved, but have not been provided a replacement yet, One Guard Claims they cant find one, baloney, they could find one if they bumped me up a model or 2, but they are sticking to give me the cheapest heat pump even if its costing me high electrical bills and little or no cooling in these plus 100 degree days here in Arizona, they could patch up the old one to work better, but since its gonna be replace, HA!, whenever, one guard will not spend anymore money on the order unit. The Tech Qual Tech has been great and even trying to get one guard to do something, so this is all One Guards fault why... Read More
please refer to other reviews! they collude with their contractor to deny the service. Be aware of Oneguard and Speedy if you are in DFW area.
Seems like Speedy is their only authorized contractor? or other company don't want to do the dirty business with them? Speedy will ask you to pay extra cleaning service otherwise they'll makeup a false report and tell Oneguard to void your AC warranty. Be sure to read other reviews and Speedy's yelp review. many people were cheated by them.
AC not cooling, they send a contractor who told me I have to pay for 350$ cleaning service before they can check on anything. I said No. So they didn't check on Freon, they didn't check on compressor they just told me if you don't pay 350$cleaning fee, your repair is not covered. Later they put "Drain clogged" as the diagnosis in the report???!!I called contractor asked where is clogged? They said you have to pay for cleaning service so we can tell Oneguard that your AC is clean and well-maintained.wow! I called Oneguard to send another contractor, and they said your AC is dirty, you didn't follow the recommended maintenance so we won't cover your AC anymore?! Wow! I asked has contractor... I was told by customer service a few minutes ago I will need to wait another day or two to have my a/c unit serviced (this was 2 days after I called in the request). It is 100 degrees outside and over 85 degrees in my house. The agent told me to "seek shelter somewhere else, or rent a unit". UNACCEPTABLE!
Left in over 90 degree weather with no AC for over 4 weeks! Its been over 4 weeks since I filed my claim on May 3, 2020. A contractor came to inspect my system May 4th and from there everything went down hill. I gave them a few days to approve my claim. By May 7th it was not approved so I began to call everyday. I called every other day following up, waiting at least 30-40 min on hold before someone answered the phone. I attempted to cancel my warranty contract May 12th and wasn't allowed to cancel because I had an open service request. I was transfer 2-3 times spending over 2 hours on the phone each call and finally was able to get my claim approved on May 15th. I was told I had to spend... Read More
You are an awful company to do business with. You used to be good. Our A/C went out. We received confirmation of a service request 5/4. Why will you not repair our unit, which is under warranty? At least 11 days without A/C now. You do not get me cash out price as requested. Twice you said you were ordering parts for our repair and you didn’t order them. Now you say they were ordered (third time I was told that). I made multiple calls asking for a manger and cannot get one to call me. You refuse to put a manager on the phone when I call. Why should anyone do business with you?
An issue with plumbing. Diverter valve came out in my hand. Response was adequare but they voided warranty and refused to repair because I removed a set screw (partiallt) holding unit to base. This had nothing to do with broken part but they refused to repair. This is total B.S
Yelp Write a Review OneGuard Home Warranties Read our review guidelines Eek! Methinks not. All changes saved Since 4/21/2019, we have had 5 service calls on our toilet. This translates to a service call about every 2 1/2 months. We have spent $345 in service fees and probably could've replaced the toilet twice over by now. Each time, the contractor comes out, they fix a part that will temporarily stop the leaking, or temporarily stop the toilet running , only for the same issues to start back up again. We have asked for the toilet to be replaced, since we've now spent nearly double the cost of the toilet in fees and have been turned down by the authorizations... Read More
Absolutely horrible. I was told of a seller's policy when I purchased my new home. I called my representative for my existing homeowner's to inquire about a seller's policy. She responded but never send out any info as promised. I email 2 more times, no response, then finally go her on the phone and she said she would take care of it. Two more days passed....Finally had to call Oneguard to get the policy. Put the house on the market between got a contract. Went over to the house to check it out 2 days before the inspection... low and behold the inspector finds a hot water heater leak. Called OneGuard to schedule a visit. DNB plumbing did not call to schedule in the 4 hour window.... Read More
I've recently had my faucets replaced by One Guard. It was not a good experience. On their website it states that One Guard will cover up to 250 dollars per occurrence. What they really covered was only 100 dollars per faucets. The reason for this is because it was the price that the plumber had quoted. The problem was, what the plumber had on hand did not match what was in my house. I was expected to take it or take the value he quoted to One Guard, which was 100 dollars. This was not an option so I choose the partial cash out. This is where you buy your own faucets and One Guard will pay you back and cover the installation cost. This sounds reasonable until you find out that... Read More
Called out to fix/repair AC. The guy told One Guard that the lines were clogged and therefore not covered. However, on the invoice/estimate that the repair guy left me, he said that the entire system needed to be replaced, and it would be about $5000 (of course, not covered). A few months later (AC not needed in winter), I called out another person, not related to One Guard. He quoted me $200. A friend and I went to Lowe's and bought a can of condenser coil cleaner ($7), thinking it's a good place to start. Everything now works great. At no point did anyone think to tell me that the coils needed to be cleaned. Now, no issues at all: works great. Only one time that I called One... Read More
There is absolutely nothing positive that I will ever say about OneGuard. They are shady operators, who hire sub-par contractors, and then refuse to honor the contract that they have written. Buyer beware, you won't be getting the service or repairs that you are paying for. Here is why... Back in September, I called in because my heat pump system wasn't operating correctly, and I told them that it was low on refrigerant. They sent out a company that only dumped some refrigerant in, without determining why it was low. This company didn't even charge my system correctly. Then in December, I had to call OneGuard again for the same system, because the heat wasn't working. I said... Read More
I give them two stars for the service we received. Sometimes they lived up to their promises, often times, more than not they sent out less than stellar companies that were not up diagnosis or repair, more than once we’ve had to call for more repairs after misdiagnosis or shoddy repairs. They will look for any opportunity to deny a service request. When I argued with them about a denied claim I was told they had spent enough money on repairs quoted a total of the repairs I had gotten ( not of course including the many times we had to spend additional hundreds fixing or properly diagnosing a problem). According to my math they still made a tidy profit from the years I paid premiums.
This company is a typical rip-off. I had this company that was included in the sale from the seller when I purchased my home. Our Bosch dishwasher had a board go bad. Spent the $69 for a tech to come out, find the board was bad. Three days later get told that they can't get the board, so OneGuard has to replace the dishwasher. OneGuard contacts me but won't replace it with a Bosch, just a builder grade that is 1/2 the cost of a Bosch. We have to eat the rest. Next time, we have a water supply line bust. City shuts off water. We have a plumber come out to see what it will take to fix (we have zero water to the house) on a Thursday. Call OneGuard, they say they will have their... Read More
