Choice HW has horrible service. I got contradictory emails. One said that $700 in expenses were not covered for my water heater replacement and the next email said : no charge.
It takes forever to get a response. Most of the time the techs are terrible at their jobs, make a mess and attempt to overcharge for expenses not covered. Of course you can't reach ank or moreyone on the phone to verify.
CHW will also charge you a double deductible if that works for them. If you need AC help in a 100 degree heatwave, plan on being hot for at least a weekThey are NOT responsive to phone calls or emails.

I was impressed that after submitting a claim, a service provider was assigned and showed up within a day. What wasn’t good was that I was required to pay the $100 deductible when I submitted the claim, and then expected to pay the contractor $100 after he finished. I called CH and was told that I wasn’t charged by them and to pay the contractor. A bit confusing. Frustrated that my claim was denied but understood after speaking with the woman when I appealed why it was denied. Still, fingers crossed that the next time I have a claim, they’ll approve it!
I never thought we would have someone as repairman, Brian. He was amazing.
We filed our claim on Dec 27, 2025 and we are still waiting for agreed upon settlement so we can replace our refrigerator. this is a ridiculous amount of time to be waiting for a refrigerator. We are fortunate that it is winter and cold enough to put our food in the garage.
We had a tech out on Jan 2, 2026, and nothing happened. Turns out the case was closed because they never go the info filed. No one contacted us or anything. I had to call numerous times to get a different tech out ( on January 16, 2026m he was wonderful) and he filed the info and we had an answer that day. It did take over 24 hr to have a tech call for the service but they completed the fix in a timely matter.
Choice Home Warranty has a great app which makes filling a claim very easy. I received prompt feedback from both CHW and a local technician. I was satisfied with the turnaround time for the technician to visit. He diagnosed the issue and told me how he would fix my stove. He was completed within 30 minutes. I was very happy with LoneStar Appliance Repair.
As usual in dealing with Choice Home Warranty our service request was answered quickly and a repair was completed within 48 hours. Our service technician, Rueben was professional, polite, friendly, informative and efficient. The new part to fix our LG washing machine was stocked on his truck so, he replaced the broken part and we were washing clothes within an hour of his arrival. Thanks, again to CHW!

I went on your website for assistance in regards to my hot water tank issues. The website is extremely easy to navigate and I submitted my claim in a short amount of time. I received an email right away that stated that you received my claim and will get back to me in 24 hours. That was a very quick response and I appreciate it.
