They also extend optional coverage for such items as pools or spas, sprinkler systems, roof leaks, well pumps, and septic tanks. AHG has a per-item benefit limit of $500 for heating and cooling equipment for the first three months of coverage, which increases to $2,000 after that initial period. Similarly, their benefit limit per appliances, plumbing, and electrical starts out at $150 and increases to $500 after the first three months. Although coverage amounts are limited during the initial coverage period, their repair and replacement allowance is quite generous when compared to that of similar providers, making them an excellent option for homeowners looking to get the most out of their dollar.

Interesting that you call this one of the best. This is not my first Home Warranty company and it's one of the absolute worst! First of all, they sent me a contract by email and suggested that I print it out, which I did. The sales representative advised me to make changes to the hard copy and send it back, With The Changes noted. I did exactly that. I am a customer of AHG. This is the worst company in terms of response and customer service. I have a had a claim open for 30 days and they cannot find a technician in my area who will fix my appliance. I have asked for a manager to call me back and all I get are empty promises. I wish they had a rating a less than 1 star because that is what they have earned.

Scammers!!! They are super nice when selling you the warranty. I signed up with them at first, but when I read the contract ( ALWAYS READ THE CONTRACT!!!) there were so many clauses that could be used not to give you service (I.e. their contractor may ask to see your maintenance records up to 3 years in order for company to replace something that's not working). 1)IMO American Home Guard Salesman use false statements about what is covered to sale warranties. Company management simply relies on the fine print of the warranty to refuse coverage of just about everything. Although salesman make statements in complete conflict with there contracts to sale the warranty. Thought I was getting a deal to get this coverage included with the purchase of my home. They rave about 24/7 support. In reality, someone will answer the phone 24/7, but they can't help you. They will take down your name and number and "forward it" to the right department for them to contact you. You will never receive a call back! Ever! Have been trying to get a gas leak fixed for months on my heater. Called multiple times. Nothing. Finally paid out of pocket because the nights are getting colder. The lighting in my bathrooms went out. The outlets work in the main bathroom but don't work in the master. Neither of them have lighting. We called American Home Guard over 30 days ago for a inspection and repair to be done. We call every other day to follow up. To date we still don't have a resolution . I would not recommend them to anyone.

I purchased their comprehensive policy in February 2017 and filed a claim for an electrical repair June 3,2017. No repair service ever contacted me and after multiple phone calls saying they were working on it, I decided to cancel my policy. I also reported them to the Pennsylvania Bureau of Consumer Affairs. I requested refunds which are pro rated and cost an additional handling fee of $75, I am still waiting for my refund as of Sept 11,2017. I tried making one claim with this company and i was given misinformation. I was told the claims process could be made 24/7 days and that was not true. The company doesn't have 24 hours availability. After i tried to make a claim the person i spoke with told me that i would have someone contact me back within 24 - 48 hours. Very unresponsive. Non Emergency claims per the contract are to be handled within 2 days during normal business hours and 4 days on weekend. I contact AHG on Thursday 8/3 at 1:52 PM and still haven't received a call or an email as promised. I have not heard from AHG or a vendor. It is Monday 8/7 3:43 PM. I called. They can't find an electrician. And what service are they supposed to be providing???? Can't evaluate repair.... They haven't done anything.

American home guard has been really good to me. We've had nothing but good experiences. They've taken care of my issues that I had with my refrigerator and stove. Submitting a claim is good and easy. The technician who fixed our ice maker was very informative about american home guard’s policy as well. He was very familiar with your company and other companies that he service for. He also told us that we should probably upgrade our policy to the blue plan because it has better coverage for a slightly higher price.

I have had an excellent experience so far. I just had my air conditioner go out mid June. After 15 years the unit wasn't worth repairing. American Home Guard replaced the unit with a brand new model. You cant go wrong spending 40 bucks a month for that.

Fraud alert! I paid for their warranty service and received a contract. My heater went out in the coldest part of the winter in my area of Texas. American Home Guard sent technicians to my home. The technicians (two from the same company) recommended replacement of my unit because it could not be repaired. American Home Guard tried to avoid payment by trying to cancel my policy. They gave the reason that they no longer serviced the state of Texas. They serviced Texas when I bought the contract and at the time my heater went out. I really really wish I could give this company a negative rating. I called on 5/22/17 for a claim on a hot tub that stopped working. As of today (6/9/2017) I still have not gotten anywhere with getting someone to come out to diagnose the problem much less repair it. Oh, they sure were quick to charge my credit card when I signed up for it but ask for an email or phone call to know where the claim process is.....forget about it. I would never do business with this company again! I have had home warranties in the past and cancelled them due to bad service! I thought maybe this time would be different! I was wrong! I called the company on 5/26/2017 to take out a policy with them. The annual premium was only $350.00 and the services fee when someone had to come up was only $45.00 Too good to be true!!
