I have had a terrible experience with this company. Tech installed system on Saturday. Immediately the thermostat broke meaning no a/c or Heat in my home. When I called for service the soonest they could do was 6 days later. A broken thermostat is an emergency in my opinion. Luckily it's April. What if it had been August or January? On top of broken thermostat, the tech carved a nasty hole in the wall that he then filled with caulk and left for someone else to worry about I guess. I decided to cancel the service and upon telling the operator over the phone, that's when it became very difficult to get anything confirmed including appointment to remove system and replace thermostat as well... We sold our house in August 2017. New owners did not want the system so we did a buyout of 475.11. In March 2018 there was a 10.00 charge. Then today (April 23 2018) there was a 53.99 charge. I called and they said they never received our WRITTEN cancellation notice. If that was the case then why haven’t they been taking payments out this whole time? It should be sorted now and they say they will refund the payment. I am skeptical. The system itself we ended up turning off because every time my dog barked the alarm went off. Their solution was to reduce sensitivity. Which would defeat the purpose of having an alarm....
Horrible experience and I have not been with them a year yet. On 3/29 617pm I called it because my screen on my thermostat was not working. The customer service rep informed me that the screens never go out. Even though mines were black, plus I had already put in new Duracell batteries. The thermostat didn’t even work from my phone app, it keep saying malfunction. Well tech support walked me through removing the cover and pressing a reset button, the screen came back on and was good for a couple of hours. In the middle of the night I heard beeping over and over and noticed that my ac unit had never turned off. Screen out again, reset again ow since I knew how. April 1st unable to control... Read More
Hard to cancel after five year agreement, Automatically renews for one more year and they wont let you cancel until that year is up. They say they never receive email cancellation. I would never recommend this company. Also not worth the money, locked my key in the house, preyed open a window crawled in and no alarm went off, found out windows did not have sensors.
They extended my 5 year contract one more year without telling us. Told me it says that in the contract I initially signed FIVE years ago, and now I'm having a hard time canceling it. Impossible to cancel even after the agreement is over. We have been with them for over 5 years. We are moving and needed to cancel the service and close our account. They told us it had to be in writing so I sent an email with a written letter to cancel it on February 26th, maybe the 27th. I asked for a reply back to confirm my cancellation. Got no reply. Called them and they said they didn't get my email. So I sent it again, next day they said they didn't get it again. So they have me send it to an email... Read More
I agreed to sign up on January 5 2017. They could process my payment of 525.44 within minutes and I cancelled the next morning January 6 2017 before any equipment was installed and I am still waiting fir my refund.... today is a February 26,2017. Their company policy does not allow refund back to the credit card and they have to issue a cheque. They promised their first cheque was sent January 17 and they issued a second cheque February 9. Neither of the Cheques has reached my mailbox ... I would never do business with Fluent in future and recommend that everyone do the same, Very Frustrated
I just cancelled my service with Fluent. They ended up costing us $600.00 in false alarm fees because they couldn't figure out why our alarm kept tripping. After promising to take care of the bill, they later lied and said they never promised that . I wish we had stuck with Monitronics. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!
When sales guy came we told him what we needed in a security system. said no problem they can do that then tech came installed the equipment and then we through it with us and one piece of equipment is not doing what we need it to do they told us that they would have that out in a few months. Finally a year or so later we get the proper piece and now it doesn't work. I've told them I'm going to stop payment until they get it working they say I can't do that because I signed a contract. I said yes I did but your not holding your end of the contract so why should I pay. They keep telling me they will get a higher up supervisor to call but they never do. Worst service ever
Do not ever sign anything this company puts in front of you... do not EVER answer 'yes' to any of their questions when they have you on the phone (if you answer yes to a 2 year contract, suddenly they hit you with a recording showing that you said 'yes' to a 6 year contract). Very unreliable equipment. Very shady business practices. Avoid Fluent Home at all cost!!!!
We are now pushing two months with no home security. We were credited with 2 months which has prevented us from cancelling this service. Up until this point we thought the alarm would notify us even though it would not notify your center. This morning we forgot to turn it off before opening the door. It just notified us the door was opened. So we’ve had a false sense of security up to this point. The out sourced techs that have come twice, they were excellent and the credit for 2 months are the only reason I gave you two stars. Are you willing to reimburse us for having to pay someone to house sit while we were out of town? Or when we leave for vacation in a few weeks?
I have been trying to cut my service off for over TWO YEARS!!! They have provoked me over the phone multiple times to the point where I get heated and then they hang up on me. Then I don't hear from them for a few weeks and then they call back and do the same thing again, this time threating to send me to the credit bureau so I am forced to pay to avoid bad credit. They harass me on a regular basis about making my payments on time for a service that I don't have. I have emailed them with a written statement asking them to discontinue my service(as per their policy) and they say that they didn't receive it?!? We are into the third week of not having a working security system. At least Fluent FINALLY returned our calls. They sent a tech out, that they subcontracted out. He went through the exact thing that they instructed us to do over the phone. IT DID NOT WORK. I suppose we are waiting for something in the mail. THEN we had to call them back to schedule another appointment for a tech to return.
At this time my security system has not been working for a week. I was told they would send a tech to fix the problem. I have not been contacted. I called again to see why no one has called and they inform me they don’t have anyone available. The only contact they have done was to tell me that the alarm system is not working. I’ve had two other alarm systems and have NEVER had issues like this. Poor customer service.
Fly by Night operations, came to our city and dumped cheap alarm systems and high contract prices, crappy messy installers, just want to get it done and out the door. then the tape falls off the the door the next week.
I am glad I could only give this a 1/2 star. Horrible service, broken promises to get you to buy in. They fail to tell you the limit on uploads. The cameras didn't last a month. Service with it is so spotty. Horrible customer service. Avoid at all costs. Can't wait until this contract is done we will be moving on.
I should have just stayed where I was at. From the start, it was a headache. I was trying to take my son to the pool - only to be ambushed by a sales person. As I tried saying I needed to leave by so-and-so time, he agreed it wouldn't take long. Well, he was wrong. Then, because it did take long, he said he would knock off the first two payments, which didn't happen, and I had to call about. Now, ever since I had the doorbell camera added for "security," which is how he sold me on switching in the first place, it has been a nightmare. My 83 yr old mother was ambushed by a salesman that showed up at her door.. he talked her into a contract she didn't want or need. Within 9 months the system failed, Fluent service was called out and they removed a battery pack so the system would stop alerting...(it alerted mom twice a day for weeks) . At that point my mom was paying for service she was not receiving. Fluent never resolved the issue, the system was inoperable and useless, Fluent kept taking money out of her acct. This company is is the business of getting vulnerable people in contracts that they feel obligated to pay... This company scammed my mother don't let them scam you stay away
I had very bad experience with Fluent home security company. First of all, once, I phoned the company, when I was talking on the phone to ask question, the lady hanged up my phone rudely. Secondly, the sales said to give me one month for free. But they did not do what is said and then I spent long time to argue with them. Thirdly, they never respond your emails. More over, I had another issue is that for the first month, I just got four days for their service, they charged me for the whole monthly fee. I did report. They still have not given me my money back.
I originally bought a system with Stryke which changed it's name to Fluent. Since last week ( 4 years into a 5 year overpriced contract) my alarm keeps getting a 103 comm error code which causes the alarm to go off every time it rains. I tried resetting the system to no avail. I contact customer service and press 3 for tech support. I am on hold for approx. 10 mintues only to learn I am not waiting for tech support like I thought but a customer service person. I tell her the problem and she puts me on hold again so SHE can call tech support and relay my problem. She then relays their answer, resetting the system, which if you read above I already did. I signed up with them about five years ago and after two years I was contacted by a rep to see if I wanted to lock in a better deal and extend my contract. I agreed but didn't realize that he was extending it by another THREE years! He didn't mention that at all and also said he would send paperwork so I could review the terms. I never received any paperwork and when I called to see if I could cancel my service a few years later they told me that they don't send out any paperwork and I am locked in until 2018, unless I want to pay up front for the remaining months. I've had the system for 2 days now and so far so good. The sales rep. was very thorough about packages and didn't try to sell me a package that I didn't need, and said that I could add additional equipment later. Once I committed to their product he had a tech come to home that same night and did the install. I was a little skeptical at first, I even had questions the next day and they were answered via text. The only thing that I do not like is the 4 year contract agreement. Other than that, this is affordable and user friendly.
I just got the system and it is very user friendly and the rates are competitive. I've read the other consumers' reviews and they do tell you everything up front. The. Another sales representative review everything again on the phone. I believe the displeased customers did not listen closely. Everything was clearly outlined in the contract and the salesperson even talked me out of certain items that I thought were cool but wouldn't be benificial to my home. So far I am very pleased and the iPhone app works very well. I even have a code for our babysitter so she can turn off the alarm but does not have access to all my settings on the system. A Fluent sales representative came twice to my door and with a very aggressive sales pitch talked me into trying out their system assuring me there would be no cost if I decided not to stay with them. After I agreed to try out their company with the assurance that I would still have my existing company a tech showed up at my door and dismantled my existing system and attempted to put up theirs. After over three hours of painfully waiting because it was now 9pm and I am completely paralyzed due to a broken neck from falling out of bed, I come to find out that they could not set up their system and my internet was broken. Fluent, used their scam to try and get my mother to change to their system. Their representative claimed to be from Honeywell the manufacturer of the Keypad and was representing her local alarm company whom he saw the sign in the yard and referred to. He said he was scheduling for her free alarm keypad upgrade since the old technology was causing problems with the monitoring and insinuated it was unreliable. There wouldn't be any charge for this, but upon further investigation we found this Fluent Company uses intimidation and deception to get older citizens to change to their service.
