AT&T Summary

In Conclusion

When considering AT&T Digital Life for your home security needs, it’s important to take a good look at the big picture, both in terms of your needs and what the company can offer you. Say, for instance, you live in a tiny, one-bedroom in a major metropolitan area whose crime rate, in particular the burglary stats, have been steadily decreasing over the past decade. You have a grand total of one entry door, and five windows, three of which face a 50-foot drop no one but Spidey or Alain Robert could hope to scale with any degree of success. If this sounds like you, perhaps a home security system whose basic plan includes two recessed contact sensors, four surface contact sensors, and a motion sensor is a wee bit of overkill, especially when its accompanying price tag requires an immediate payment of $349.99, plus monthly fees of $34.99 for the next two years. Who knows if you’ll even be living in the same city? Maybe that hoped-for overseas opportunity will come, and you’ll be learning to surf in the company’s Costa Rica branch. If, however, you live in a home where smart security and automation are not just logical, but an actual help to you and your family’s lifestyle, than AT&T’s Digital Life packages can be just what you need. Within the industry, its price point is fairly reasonable, if a touch high--but this is counterbalanced by the company’s lifetime guarantee, and wealth of smart home features. The premium package includes glass-break sensors, carbon monoxide detection, temperature and water sensors, indoor smart plugs, and a smart thermostat, so you can control the temperature of your house remotely, if need be. Though installation must be carried out by a professional, it is without cost, and AT&T even helps you move the system, should you need it.

I have been a customer for several years now, and was happy, but the home security system that includes fire/smoke alarms seem to no longer be working correctly. A technician has been out several times and informed me that they are no longer providing new or replacement alarms, even though we are paying for this service, and it is not working consistently. The system either has gone offline throughout the day without a reason, alarm sounded with the fire department showing up, and/or the large battery pack shutting down, requiring a new battery. The company is quick to contact when the break-in system is set off, but not replacing smoke alarms. So now I am paying for something that cannot... Read More

I have had the system in my home for 1 year. The cost was what got me changed over from ADT to this. I love the simplicity of it. I don't like the hardware. In addition to the actual key pad needing an outlet, you also have a charger that needs a separate outlet near the key pad, and to top it all off a huge piece of machinery that's hiding in my front hall closet needing another outlet. Someway this needs to be streamlined and people would find it more inviting.

Omg what a piece of junk.. Boston market the AT&T sales have no idea! thank god for the tech that came out, they fully explained how the system works and what I need for total protection. If I had to reley on the sales person I would have been def mislead.he was so uneducated on the product he sold me. I think his commission should go to the tech that explained and installed the system.. I feel if it was not for the tech I would have cancelled this service. At least AT&T knows to employee good service techs to make up for the sales lack of knoweledge... What a joke come on train your sales people like u do your techs and maybe your customers would be happy

The system was installed in one day and it works. The security sensors applied to the windows fall off and the double faced tape has to be replaced. The AT&T cell phone signal is weak in our area and this has presented some connection problems. Finally, the service is relatively expensive at $49.97 a month, as compared to others providing the same service in the $15.00 (no contract) to $25 (2 year contract) range.
