i scheduled an appointment based on sales person's assurance that i would have to pay approx. $50 monthly and would have a $750 credit on necessary equipment when they installed system. the technician arrived a couple days later and a few minutes into the conversation asked me if I had been robbed or my house had been broken into. When I said "no why are you asking that?" he responded that there had been many break-ins in my neighborhood. Pretty much the opposite of what all my new neighbors told me. When my dogs started barking and I joked about my live-in alarm systems he responded by telling me about people funding their dogs dead after break ins. After 2 hours waiting to go over... Read More

I live far out in the country and response time is quite a while for the local sheriff's patrol. My decision was to go with a well known brand of security. Our neighborhood has been experiencing quite a bit of theft and tampering with equipment outside and I felt that with that going on I had better get a good security system from a good company. The salesman that sold me the system was great ...and installation was prompt...the techs that came to my home were very congenial and thorough . We have been with ADT for 25 years and not once have they ever contacted us or checked on us or the system. The first time the system activated no one responded. All they seem to be good at is cashing the check. We are replacing them.

Their customer service does not meet my customer expectations. I have had the same problem with my alarm 3 times in a row within a month, and every time I call ADT I am told the same thing: That they will send someone in 5 to 7 days -- really??? 5 to 7 days???? really??? so what happens if some one breaks into my home during those days? All I expect from the ADT is come fix Their technical problem in a prompt manner, the same day or the next day! Is that too much too ask? and if it isn't too much to ask, then ADT is definitely for you.

ADT is not providing the service, they outsource the services to other companies. As a result, nobody knows who you are and when problems arise, there is nobody to speak with you. You run in circles, and ADT does not want to discuss anything with you because they tell you to contact so and so. The equipment is outdated, large, visible and ugly; It does not fit in the modern home. Customer service is rude and lacks knowledge.

ADT is a great system until something happens. And workers in my house working on my air-conditioning and heating system. The carbon monoxide detector went off in the fire department was called through the ADT system. After two hours and for department finally be carried out with the source of the leak was as well as the gas company. They recommended that we contact for security company ADT and have a service on the carbon monoxide system. After contacting ADT service and notifying them that we have had multiple carbon dioxide alerts that we needed a technician out to look at the system. They told us to send out a technician two hours. I was on hold for over 35 minutes to find out why the tech has not arrived to service our equipment which frequently fails and leaves us with no monitoring service. Reported 10 days ago and yesterday was first available appointment. They postponed until today between 12 and five. Now said it could be as late as 8 PM. Now want to reschedule for next available which won't be until next week. And, they increased our monthly fee a few months after I paid to have new equipment installed last year and was told I was locked in for 2 years. I had them for several years. Had the mobile app as well. It was the mobile app that would make me realize when ADT would lose connection to their cell tower because the mobile app could not connect to the unit. I would call and the first available appointment they would have would be 10 days. The system would go down approx. every 3 months. Customer service is totally rude when you call in to report a problem. Technical support folks know less about the system than I did. They use outdated radio transmitters that send the signal to a tower and these radio transmitters would fail to do so. So if someone breaks into your house, ADT would be the last one to know.
