I was asked by my sister-in- law to recommend a security system for her new home. I told her ADT SECURITY. I AM A LONG TIME MEMBER OF ADT and had Great Service.When i look for a service, i not only read the reviews the services, i look for the history as well. How long have they been in business?ADT SECURITY WAS FOUNDED IN 1874.I checked the BBB,i found a BBB A+ RATING. They send you a flyer stating you can have a complete system with installation for $99 and a three year contract. The installer comes into your house and starts to install the system they say will protect your house. A third of the way into installation the installer tells you, in his opinion you need different equipment"glass breaking sensors", to protect a house safely. As I ask him what this might cost me to have the different sensors put on my window he won't give me an answer. He just quickly works to put the sensors on my doors. I was recently broken into, and lost $10000 in equipment. I called to find out why I didn't get a call about it, and was told that they don't monitor a signal to make sure it all works as it should and I have to test the system once a month. They have since set up 3 appointments and have not yet shown up for 1. when I called again to find out what happened, I was put on hold for 38 min the first time then got the run a round the second time I called. I was told the earliest they could get to me would be in a week. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. If you want to be safe do NOT use them.

Worst customer service!!! They do not care about their customers and take a long time to answer your call, once they answer they gave me a horrible attitude and didn't want to help!!! Do not sign up for this!

Customer Service is not a priority! ADT Level 1 Call Center is incompetence at its best. Our alarm system is beeping continuously (and we had this problem at least 3 times in the past). We called ADT to report our problem and its policy is a call back within 48 hours. Yes they did, in 48 hours and the ADT rep offers the appointment in 7 days! Hum, not acceptable as we say can’t sleep with that loud beep and we have an opened house in 2 days. Than the genial workaround offered is to power down the system until the technician get to our place, yes in 7 days! Furious, we asked to be escalated to the next level. I have been a loyal ADT customer without any complaints until now. My home flooded in August 2016. Since we're restoring our home, my husband felt it would be a great time to update our services. ADT has been sending information that was appealing. We received 3 different prices within an hour, being transfer from sales to customer loyalty then being disconnected. The price ranged from $500 to $181 due at signing and $40 plus a month. AT&T rescheduled my appointment to activate land line, so I had to reschedule ADT. They were aware of the changes, when the technician arrived, our price changed from the lower price to the middle price because they said Representative made a mistake... Read More

BE WARNED! Horrible service! There 'call center' has typically consisted of incompetent people who have conflicting understandings of ADT protocols or no understanding of them at all. We recently had a false fire alarm and I keyed in the cancellation code within seconds. The alarm continued to sound in the house despite the fact that ADT operations center had received the cancellation notification. Despite the fact that they could see that we had cancelled the alarm at the key pad, according to ADT's Chris in Irving Texas, a "Team Leader", ADT policy is to call the local fire department and tell them that an alarm has been triggered.... but NOT tell the fire department that they also... We have had ADT at three residents for 9 years. We have never had an incident so we don't know how good they are other than their signs being a deterrent. They have decided to eliminate their remotes (with verbal confirmation that the alarm is set). They think that their phone app does the job. It is very INCONVENIENT for the customer!! If you have a garage door opener and choose not to use the app, you must get out of your car and go in through the man door to set the alarm manually. Not a great company!!!
