You can also opt for environmental protection, such as carbon monoxide, flood, temperature change and smoke sensors, as well as a panic button and an emergency alert button. New for 2022, ADT security systems feature the Google Nest doorbell. The highly-rated device features HD video and two-way audio. How much does ADT Home Security cost?

ADT offers five security system service plans to choose from: Basic ($28.99/month), Secure (45.99/month), Smart (49.99/month), Video ($56.99/month), and Complete ($59.99/month). Plans require a 36-month minimum contract. Additionally, in the event of early contract termination, ADT may require the client to pay 75% of the monthly charges due for the balance of the first 36-months. The company does offer a 6-month money-back guarantee and a limited warranty for their products (restrictions apply), but overall, ADT seeks a long-term commitment from the customer.

To help protect customers against the cost of unexpected service calls, ADT offers extended limited warranty protection, called their Quality Service Plan, or QSP. While ADT's electronic technology is designed to meet the highest standards, no manufactured equipment is 100% perfect. QSP adds additional coverage some customers might prefer.

ADT has invested in upgrading to the latest wireless technology to help protect your home and keep the installation process as streamlined as possible. Like many newer systems, ADT wireless security systems rely on radio waves to connect your home’s cameras and sensors to the control panel.

In addition, ADT operates six monitoring centers. In the event that your assigned monitoring center goes offline, a security breach or call for help from your home will be automatically rerouted to the next available center.

The ADT Essentials plan for basic digital monitoring service has a limited warranty on parts and labor, something that other competitors do not offer. If you want additional protection, the Essentials Plus package includes 2-way voice monitoring. Like all plans, this one includes monitoring for police, fire, and medical emergencies. However, both plans require customers to have access to their own landline phone.

Customers who do not have landlines can opt for the ADT Secure plan. This plan includes monitoring for police, fire, and medical emergencies and add the peace of mind that comes from knowing that an intruder cannot cut your home’s landline. There is an ADT protection plan for all budgets and needs.

ADT Home Security systems are very user-friendly, and during installation, the technician will show you how to use the equipment. There is technical support available to answer any questions customers have about the equipment. ADT offers professional installation, several monthly plans with competitive rates, and allows users to choose between wireless and hardwired systems. Keep in mind, though, that customers must sign a three-year agreement for all ADT security monitoring plans.

We are totally dissatisfied with their service. We had a service repair man from their company attend to some problems we were having with the system and he was surly and rude. Also he went into our phone system to connect what he thought our alarm system needed to work and disconnected our first land line number without checking it or telling us. After he left our premises we discovered the malfunction and tried to contact ADT to help us and got no live response but only robotic receptions. I've had ADT for over 12 years and for the last five years the monthly premium has increased 5.5% per year or almost 27% for five years. I've had little technical issues other than (2) battery replacements. I've experienced a couple of billing problems but my primary complaint are the premium increases every year and customer service could use a little help too. I had rude or abrupt conversations with a couple of their agents. I'm transitioning to Vivint Security Services. I'm locked-in for (5) years at almost the same premium as ADT. It may be clichéd, but I think that ADT has become too big for their britches.

Not a very good experience from ADT. Customer service blames you or your internet service for all of their system issues. I have 3 cameras in my home. One camera since May 15th consistently reports being offline (i get text messages). Previous to this date i rarely received "offline messages" . Since 12 midnight i have received 7 offline messages to my phone. Again, this has been going on since May 15th. I did all of the usual stuff, i reset the system, i unplugged the camera then plugged it back in to no avail. The customer service rep told me the camera is rebooting or updating, which is why i am receiving these messages. That is nonsensical. Why would this only occur with ONE... Read More

ADT refused to reimburse the false alarm fine that I've been charged by the city, which was due to sensor malfunction. The same sensor tripped twice in the past 3 month and ADT claims that they cannot prove the sensor is malfunctioned. Customer services can do nothing but telling me to email the False Alarm Research department, because that department doesn't take phone calls but emails only. I emailed the False Alarm Research department several times, and I received the same reply every single time. Apparently, if you want to have reimbursement, ADT makes it impossible and does not want to talk to you directly. And ADT doesn't care at all if you have a false alarm. You'd better think... Do not deal with this dishonest, sleazy company. ADT gave us a multi-page, very difficult to read contract when we installed the alarm 3 years ago. The print on the back is so light you need a magnifying glass to read it. The contract was for 3 years, but it renews automatically every 30 days once the contract has expired. According to the contract, a customer must give notice at least 30 days before the expiration if they do not want the contract to renew. The notice is given by calling a number on the front of the contract. We tried to give notice more than 30 days before the contract’s expiration and asked ADT to email us to confirm the contract would not renew. The email never came. We... Read More

We sold our NJ house where we had ADT. In March 2020, we called ADT to cancel service. At first, we did not realize we signed a 3 year contract with ADT and would be facing large penalties for cancelling the contract early. This was not good news to receive but we calmed down after ADT mentioned we could put a hold on our account until we close on our new house and we'd also receive a credit of almost $700 to upgrade or add components to the new house. Worst experience....camera doesn't work and service ticket cost $25. Then, ADT uses RING and have to pay an additional fee with RING to maintain video record. RING alone would cost $600 and save you $725 over a period of two years...bad customer service...try to call...

I so wish I had found this website a year ago, when I entered this fateful, no good, horrible world of ADT. They are totally a bait and switch company. Not in a million years would I use them ever again. A year ago I signed a 3 year contract that cost me $2k for installation and equipment. Then I had to make a move to take care of a family member. In my naivete, I thought it would be a simple transfer of my contract and equipment to the new residence. Boy, was I ever wrong. Now, a new 3 year contract and $400 later, I have to deal with the ADT scoundrels for another 3 years.
