Overall Rating: 4.1 / 5 (Excellent)

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Group and one of the nation's leading property and casualty insurers by market share, GEICO's policies are backed by their parent company's outstanding financial strength and stability as well as their own substantial experience in the insurance industry. Although their site fails to provide detailed information about their homeowners policies and offers less than a handful of discount for their line of property insurance products, GEICO still delivers superb customer service and excellent coverages at affordable prices.

We all recognize this friendly little lizard. Great rates + Great service = Awesome Insurance Company. Right? Wrong. This post is about customer service, surveys and the importance of loyalty in the digital age. We’ve had our policy for over 5 years. No accidents, no issues. Then, one day my hubby and I have a small fender bender in a parking lot. Since we both backed into each other we figured it would be a 50/50 fault determination. Again, wrong. While our car is in the shop, we get a letter from our adjuster, Akilah M. stating that we were determined 100% at fault and we had 30 days from the letter date to dispute this. We both called DAILY for weeks to dispute the decision. Left... Read More

Stay clear of Geico's Homeowners insurance. They are completely misleading and NOT truthful with the consumer. Many employees are not able to explain their policies correctly. They initially REFUSED several times to cover ANYTHING in a condo building. The fire did not start in my daughter's condo. The fire destroyed the WHOLE building. My husband reported that they were impossible to speak with. All anybody said was that " we can write you a renter's policy." A renter's policy? My daughter and husband OWN the condo. We made a complaint to the state insurance board. Luckily for us , our underwriter was Traveler's insurance, and they could not believe the garbage that Geico sold us... Read More

Stay clear of Geico homeowners insurance "Stillwater Insurance" From day 1 after our condo fire It was a daily battle with my Insurance adjuster. My adjuster had no compassion whatsoever and his supervisor backed him up on everything. The day after the fire when i spoke with my adjuster, his first comment was that I didn't have much of a claim because it was a small fire. This was a comment from someone in Nebraska and my fire was in New Jersey. I explained to him that out of the 12 condos in my building more than half were completely destroyed and the fire was so large, 5 towns responded to the fire alarm. Also on the day after the fire, I told my adjuster that I had to go out and buy... Read More
