I have been a customer of Metlife for 15 yrs, having auto and home insurance with this company. My most recent experience was less than satisfying. I called to get a rate on a 2nd car and was quoted a good rate. I didn't need it to start until the first of the month, two weeks forward. When I called back (6 days later) they said "oh the rate has changed" in my opinion a classic bait and switch, which I believe is illegal. I will be canceling my auto and home policy of this illegal activity.
I called to get a FS-1 form sent to the DMV. I was told at first it would be there by 2:30, after that I spoke with a lady that stated she could expedite it. All the while my aunt is standing in the DMV waiting on it . I then call back at 2:45 and they tell me that they sent it check now of course it still not there and then they say check now it says it was sent at 2:57 still not there I speak with another lady named Nell ID 4##SITEL^K and she states that it cant be faxed or emailed. I explained to her that no one informed me of that. So she then tells me to tell the DMV to check the data base it is now 3:32 as Im typing and it still has not been received. Awful customer service! We cancelled after 25 year of being a customer! When we cancelled-they charged a short rate-double our monthly rate! Also, we had one homeowner claim in 25 years of insurance and they doubled our homeowners! We were paying $470 a month-now we're with State Farm paying $290!!! So happy to say Good Riddance to METLIFE!!!
MetLife DIRECT Auto Insurance is THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.
They canceled my insurance my with no notice, communication, and nothing.
I was actually driving around for a month without knowing I wasn't covered.
They said they notified me, but there was not one email from them.
They are absolutely unprofessional, reckless, and irresponsible.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
In October 2018 I was quoted a premium of $95.38 every two weeks by payroll deduction, I work for World Travel Holdings we have several group polices through Met Life. My policy started October 10, 2018 and the payroll deduction also. On November 9, 2018 I received a payroll deduction of $131.80 with out notice. I called and was told my marital status changed from married to single, I have never been married a day in my life. I canceled my previous insurance with penalty to go with Met Life because of the faith my employer has in you and I have Dental Insurance through your company also have for 8 years. MetLife Auto Insurance review I had a hit and run at a hotel. I spent 6 hrs getting a video of the accident, gave them a name and number on the responsible party, sent the file several times because they have no technology, and even waited 2 extra hours waiting to do a worthless police report. After the first 10 days, the claims specialist completely forgot me. I gave proof and gave them everything they needed and she made a couple of calls and just said they didn't call her back. I called several times and sent many emails with no reponse. We spend thousands of dollars in car insurance annually and they do nothing to find the responsible person. Worse experience I have ever had with an insurance company. I haven't even had them a month and already canceling. They can't get the billing correct, billed both myself and the mortgage company - can't seem to get it straighten out. My advice is don't walk away, run!
Just switched from MetLife as of today and will be saving over $3100.00 per year in Auto Insurance.
All of the other major companies beat what Metlife was charging me by at least $2500.00 per year.
They were gouging us badly...!
