Founded in 1972 and originally called the Commerce Group, Mapfre Insurance was acquired by Mapfre Insurance in 2008. The Massachusetts-based insurer is part of the larger Mapfre Group, a global insurance company with over 36,00 employees worldwide. The company offers standard industry coverages such as liability, medical payments, collision, comprehensive, and uninsured motorist. It also provides substitute transportation coverage in case a car is totaled and you need to rent a car and towing and labor, for when your auto is disabled.
