HiRoad not only is a great, new option for auto insurance, but the company also represents a fundamental shift coming in the entire industry. Although the idea of using a device to track a driver's habits in order to affect the monthly premium is not new, these types of arrangements previously required proprietary technology to be custom installed in the vehicle. HiRoad integrated driver monitoring technology into an app for iOS and Android, making it more accessible and easier to use than ever before. This new kind of mobile-centric auto insurance can save people money and actually encourage safer driving as a result. Customers need only get a quote, purchase a policy, download app, and go. The only downside is HiRoad is currently only available in Rhode Island, although the company plans to expand in the immediate future.

Do not purchase insurance with HiRoad. My car was involved in a hit and run accident over 45 days ago and HiRoad has still not paid the vehicle off - mind you it was a total loss......and I have to keep making payments until it is paid off. Every time I contact HiRoad, its another song and a dance as to why they have not paid the finance company yet. I think I need to hire an attorney.

Beware of this company. I had for over a year and one month my rate was double what they quoted me. They blamed me for the app not working on my phone and refused to refund me. I'm reporting them to Better Business Bureau.
