We love the classic shades we had them put in our home and how will they move up automatic plus the quality of the shades. The gentleman that installed them did a wonderful job we requested to have him return to put our other order in when we get them.
I have experienced chronic problems with my Power View shades. The shades frequently go off-line. Most recently the smartphone APP has failed. Last night I spent more than an hour on the phone with two tech support representatives who only succeeded in taking all of my shades off-line again because their directions shut-down the power view hub. Now none of the shades work. Having these shades installed in my home has been the most expensive mistake I have ever made. They are unreliable and the customer service tech support is incompetent. Do Not buy these shades. You will be miserable.
We purchased blinds from them and less than 8 months old got broken and I called to service it under warranty they transferred to Authorized repair center they want to charge us for the repair because we didn’t buy it from them or someone will come on-site and repair it for $175.00 +
Don’t buy expensive Hunter Douglas blinds it’s not worth it.
I bought this house 2 months ago. I just discovered the bathroom blinds are motorized and I found the remote and put new batteries in it. It lights up when you hit the up or down arrow but the shades don’t respond. Is there a sensor in the shades or batteries that could be dead?
We had Hunter Douglas double-cell cordless blinds with premium fabric installed on 30 windows in our home, and they have been nothing but trouble since day 1. Every single one of them has had to be replaced at least once, and a number of them have been replaced two or three times due to product failure involving the "motor" in the headrail. Hunter Douglas has replaced them each time at no cost to us, but it's not fair to the contractor who installed them to have to keep coming to our home to remove failed shades that do not retract properly, package them up for shipping to Hunter Douglas, and then return to reinstall "repaired" ones (which have subsequently failed again) -- he does NOT... My daughter lives in a condo in Toronto. The window coverings are Hunter Douglas Roller shades. They began to give off a strong chemical odour, like plastic. Terrible odour. The sun was breaking them down I guess. This odour was so toxic, it was affecting her health.
I removed the shades . I called Hunter Douglas and they gave me the run around because we were not the original owners. The customer service rep. Wanted me to bring to take them or send them to Brampton for investigation but was not willing to compensate me in any way. Not very fair!
Never buy Hunter Douglas. Hazardous material in their products!
Hunter Douglas is miserable to deal with. They have awful customer service and when there's a problem with one of their products, the item can't be fixed on site but instead, has to be removed, shipped back to their factory and then, takes 3 weeks to a month to be returned. I had multiple problems with a particular shade that was in my bedroom, at the front of the house. It was removed and shipped back to them and I was supposed to be ok with the repair taking a month each time. Ridiculous. Company does not stand behind its “Guaranty”
I have Hunter Douglas shutters and blinds. The blinds were defective and I noticed wrinkles in the material about a year after installation. My designer came out and agreed the should be returned. Designer returned them with Hunter Douglas response that it was an environmental issue - the are blinds that hang on wall. No other reason was given. LIFETIME GUARANTEE is a SHAM
I was sold a defective blind by Hunter Douglas and they were very resistive to replacing it and would not pay the $85 installation fee for the replacement shade to be installed. The customer service agent was argumentative and said it was not part of their warantee and the I would have to work it out with the dealer. I did not think it was the dealer's responsibility since they did not make the defective blind. Will go with curtains or another brand in the future.
