Members of the background check industry all deliver the same basic types of information. Price, then, becomes a major factor in the decision of which company to go with. Unfortunately, Checkr does not publish its pricing structure, which makes a head-to-head comparison with competitors impossible. The company specializes in employment screening, and in that particular area, its services are complete and satisfactory. Customers who need a background check for other, less official purposes, however, may wish to explore other options.

Checkr Company Reputation

Reputation - 4 / 5

Checkr has an A+ rating from the BBB and a small number of negative reviews and complaints, most of which are from individuals complaining about the length of time it takes to get their background check or the difficult they have in correcting errors in their reports. It has no presence on TrustPilot. Although litigation challenging the accuracy of Checkr's reports is pending, this is not unusual in the background check industry. Until this litigation reaches an end point, it does not play a part in the evaluation of Checkr's reputation. However, Checkr's customers and prospective customers are advised to keep an eye on the news for developments in those cases.

This is by far the worst company to use to perform background checks. They’re blaming the “Pandemic” for not having our background checks completed. My status is still pending and it’s frustrating. I’ve been driving for almost 6 years and my background hasn’t change. I’m sick of Checkr. There’s a lack of support, and we can’t even talk to a real person. These gig platforms should be ashamed of themselves for using Checkr.

Homelessness has become a serious problem in California due to a number of factors. It is often referred to as a drug problem. Many people believe that it is a choice. But, has anyone ever considered that maybe, just maybe, some of the people living on the streets have been unable to gain employment because of a company called checkr that runs background checks? Checkr provides background checks for gig companies such as Uber, Lyft and DoorDash. Hundreds of people apply to these companies only to be rejected based on inaccurate background checks. Per Checkr's website: 1. Under the FCRA, non-convictions are reportable for seven years from the file date and can appear on a background... Read More

This is a company that has got a very lucrative contract from a big company ( not exactly by bidding and who knows how they got it) and they simply are not organized, equipped, or ready to get the job done. Their specialty is using the Coronavirus excuse to delay the job. Some background checks take months while checking public records is done efficiently and fast by competition. Do not use this company if you want results. What they deliver is a fresh, juicy excuse right out of the oven. Here are some companies that are smaller but a lot more efficient 1- Goodhire.com 2- Intellicorp 3- Accio data The only thing you get when you go with Checkr is an excuse to delay the job and a... The worse company checking backgrounds ever!!!! Nobody even close. No wonder they shroud be shut down. There is no words to describe how bad they are. This awful company is negatively impacting my income opportunities. I cannot believe they are rated top 10 background checks. I would sue them but considering their customer service, my guess is they have no money.... any how, I too will be one of those suing for faulty background checks...

This lame excuse of a Background Check company should be shut down. ZERO customer service support ZERO phone lines to reach. It appears they would only reach out to you when they feel they have a moment to spare via emails. Why these Gigantic companies refer to this agency for their background checks I do not know. I'm getting held up for employment opportunities because of this pile of trash company called Checkr.

Endless wait time for a simple background check with 0 customer service. The only message you can expect to receive is "we are working hard to complete your report." They do not tell you which step they are stuck with but just "Pending," "Pending" and "Pending..."

Honestly if i could give no stars I would these people have ruin two forms of employment for me During the time of a Pandemic These Companies who have always use "us" type of People to make their billions, Now since they have made their billions or millions they decide they don't need us anymore " POSTMATES'' "UBER" ETC. They decide to hiring this Horrific company with no customer service, and Lawsuits everywhere to do their background check. How is it that Mr Checkr has contracts with Doordash, Uber Eats and Lyft, its all a big secret handshake to me and the abuse of the little man.

Absolutely bottom of the barrel for customer/candidate support. I can't believe this is considered a professional company, 7 hours it took to talk to a human with this company. I had to reach out to SJV Data Solutions which is a third party company that is hired by checkr to investigate backgrounds. They even gave me an invalid number to get ahold of checkr, I'll pray for anyone else who has to deal with this "dumpster fire" company.

Reporting wrong felony classifications and multiplying charges like I have 6 F3's and a F2. Hello Checkr, I'd be sitting in prison if that was the case. Get your reporting right and correction processing up to date. Your holding up people's employment.

There are a number of law firms that have sued and are currently suing Checkr for faulty background checks. They have wrongly accused people of having a criminal history when they don't. This is a violation of the Fair Trade Reporting Act. It can affect your employment prospects, result in termination, and wrong information being added to your credit report. This can further affect your ability to rent or purchase a home, buy a car, get loans, etc. Google "Chkr lawsuits" and you will find a number of law firms that are involved in the investigations/suits. I urge you to contact these law firms (which are taking on cases at no cost to you) if you have been denied employment or fired due to... Read More
