Overall Rating: 3.7 / 5 (Very good)

Public Storage is one of the oldest and largest self-storage companies in the industry, with a good selection of units for personal and business use. Their site is among the best we have reviewed, offering excellent visual aids to help customers identify the right storage solution for their needs. Although the company leaves much to be desired with regard to detailed information on security features and rental terms, they are an ideal choice for anyone moving across state lines and seeking a reliable storage option in their new area.

Don't use the Publics Storage at 4630 Babcock St. Palm Bay, FL This place is INFESTED WITH RATS! I lost everything due to these vermin. If the property had been maintained properly the rodents wouldn't have eaten everything I own. Management won't help e en though the regional manager Michael called me and assured me they would take care of me....nothing has been done. I had to file 2 claims, one for water damage and one for vermin damage. They denied the vermin claim and offered me $175.99 for my troubles. What an insult. I lost about $3000 worth of items. SHAME ON YOU PUBLIC STORAGE! . I

STAY AWAY!!! they sign you up for a competitive rate and then start raising rates about every 4-6 months for no reason. "customer care" as they call it. what a joke. spoke with an agent and also sent an email outlining concerns and asking to speak to someone of authority to have a rational business discussion about rate increases. still no response. CRICKETS!! was told by local prop. mgr. to contact dist. mgr. good luck with that. several voice messages and she does not want to talk, apparently. I have been told by 2 of their reps. I am priced above "normal" market rates for the Atlanta area. Yet....no one is even willing to talk. Run and find someone else. Hopefully there is... Read More

Public storage tmraises rates every 5 months. The contract requires that they send notification of intent to raise rent 30 days in advance, but refuses to provide proof. I’ve not received any notice. They raise by AT LEAST $50 per month. This is unfair and deceptive.

Please do not store your belongings here for a long period of time. This company raises prices yearly until you're paying an exorbitant amount of money. I am a senior citizen who has been renting from their Turnersville NJ units for 10 years. Last year I was contacted by the company to inform me that they were raising my rent to over $200. When I told them that was a ridiculous amount for a senior citizen, they froze the price for what I thought was a year. I received a call yesterday about my card, so I went online to pay with my new card and saw that my new charge was $256!!!! i called and was told the freeze was only for 6 months and they informed me by email. However, they had... Read More

My issue is with Corporate. I have had my rent increased OVER 30% in the last 7 months!!! I find this excessive and in the "price gouging" category. I will say I appreciate that you did defer the FIRST increase for 6 months, however it was still increased almost 30% on the first one. Then as soon as you raised it, I then get a notice that you are raising it ANOTHER $9 per month!! This is outrageous. Nor was there anything done to increase my level of service (lower AC, better hand carts, extended hours, etc.). You take that 30+% increase and multiply by the amount of customers and I'm sure it's a nice tidy sum that the BofD will be happy with. At a time when we are all struggling to... Read More

If possible, do NOT use! Constantly increasing monthly charges after initial "good deal". Currently paying 100% more in monthly fees from when we first rented. Last increase with less than 1 month's notice was an increase of $109 per month which amounted to a 35% increase. In attempting to contact the company, it took over 8 phone calls, waiting a total of over 5 hours on hold. Finally got a call back from corporate, almost a week after promised. While the lady was polite, she said that Public Storage was not willing to do anything about the excessive fees even though another Public Storage facility less than 6 miles away was offering less than half the rate I was being charged with... Do not do business with Lincoln Road Public Storage located in Vallejo, CA. The manager Tina and her District Manager Heather are rude beyond anything I have ever experienced. Both have attitude problems. My suggestions to them both is to please do the public a favor and find a job where do not have to deal with customers. Both are extremely unprofessional and ghettos. Another suggestion to Public Storage, provide training to your staff regarding customer services and professionalism. I felt like I was dealing with two teenagers, unfortunately, their mental capacity is at the level of teen girls. Not all Public Storages are that bad but this one on Lincoln Rd need a new Manager.... Read More

PURE GREED! We have used Public Storage for years. They have consistently raised our rent, multiple times a year. So often in fact that we had to get a different unit inside the same property to stay on budget. Then more recently we needed a much bigger unit because we were moving, and since Public Storage was the only local place we had no choice but to get a different one - though at a different property. Way overpriced for a 10x20, but during the pandemic you have no choice and are lucky to even find a space. While moving we had to find yet another storage unit and found one at an Extra Space location close to where we were moving to. When we completed our move and vacated Extra... Read More
