Customers can keep tabs on their property by phone and over the internet. MakeSpace picks up, stores, and delivers your belongings whenever you choose so you never have to visit the storage facility. After verifying if they’re in any of MakeSpace’s service areas, customers are provided with a wide variety of plan sizes and prices based on the number of things they’re storing and the space they need to store them in. The service requires you to schedule an appointment online, via the MakeSpace iOS app, or by telephone to receive a quote. Transportation, bins, packing bags, and online photo inventory are all included in the service, so there is no need to visit your MakeSpace facility. Nevertheless, the company offers visits to their facilities provided they are scheduled beforehand.

The company’s prices vary by region depending on the city’s operational cost, but their residential storage plans start at $69/month, with one free hour of service per month. After this free hour of service, appointments can be scheduled for $50 per mover per hour, prorated to the nearest minute, and can be made between Monday through Friday in two time slots: 8am-11am and 12pm-3pm. Though MakeSpace offers a free insurance plan, it only reimburses $0.60 per pound of the eligible item the customer has had lost or damaged during service. MakeSpace recommends their Silver and Gold protection plans, which reimburse $1,000 and $2,000 for eligible items under their Terms of Service that are lost or damaged, though this is only for the actual cash value or repair costs of the item. The plans cost $15 and $20, respectively.

Why would you pay a monthly fee to not get your stuff back? This storage unit is the biggest scam ever. You pay a monthly fee to never get your stuff back, or else to get things damaged. Moreover, the customer service is truly awful if you do lose your stuff, you will get the runaround multiple times. I stored my stuff with makespace for only four months. At the end of the four months, I pick my stuff at the warehouse (not delivery) - so far so good. The next day, we drive to Nevada with our things on Labor Day. That *day* I realize we are missing one huge wardrobe box (which they convinced us to buy, since it would be less likely our stuff was lost - oh, the irony) that contained all... Read More

Horrible company DO NOT EVER WORK WITH THEM. I have entrusted them with all my things. All boxes suffered damage. There wasn't anything spared. On top of that they lost one item in their warehouse. Can you imagine that??? How can they be so incompetent. After waiting for almost a month to get the refund check they wrote the name wrong on it. I cannot cash it in. I have told them right before sending the check to correct the name on file and they didn't. They said they will but obviously didn't. DO NOT EVER EVER EVER MAKE BUSINESS WITH THEM. THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR ITEMS. THEY WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL. RUUUN RUN RUN RUN AND NEVER LOOK BACK!
