WE HAVE HAD GOOD SAM FOR A SHORT TIME, WHILE COMING HOME FROM A CAMPING TRIP WE HAD A WHEEL PROBLEM, PULLED OVER AND FOUND OUT THE HUBCAP WAS MISSING ON THE BACK REAR TIRE ALONG WITH THE CAP, NUT AND OUTSIDE BERING , CALLED THE SERVICE DEPT. THEY CALLED SOME IDIOT WHO DID NOT SHOW UP FOR OVER TWO HOURS, SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN 90 DEGREE FLA. SUN. I HAD TALKED TO THE MOBILE MECHANIC BY PH: ABOUT AN HOUR INTO THIS EVENT AND TOLD HIM WHAT WAS MISSING ETC. WHEN HE ARRIVED IN A BEATUP OLD SUV{WORK VEHICLE} HE DID NOT HAVE THE PROPER WASHER TO HOLD ON THE NEW BERINGS INSTALLED OR A CAP TO HOLD THE GREASE IN. I PERSONALLY HAD TO WIRE THE NUT WITH SOME WIRE I FOUND IN THE TRAILER SO IT... Read More

Electronic brakes stopped working on our camping trailer. Good Sam Roadside Insurance sent out a technician who had never worked on a camper. After 2 hours, he gave up. We asked to have it towed to a dealer 17mi away. Good Sam refused & wants to send out another technician. What a rip off, we foolishly have been traveling around the country, paying for insurance that does absolutely nothing. Do not get involved with Good Sam!

Good Sam (National General) refused to honor a legitimate claim.

Cons: Not anyway near the cheapest. For example, Allstate was at least $200 cheaper than Good Sam, Progressive and others for 6 month policy. Pros: Website was easy to maneuver and access.

Yesterday I needed to get a new insurance policy for our RV. Good Sams quote was over $370, so I started checked out reviews and found this page. So I tried Progressive and got one for $130 for a year with 100k liability. For road service I use AAA. If you have a second vehicle to add to a policy, AAA is absolutely the best. Good luck on your insurance search everyone!

Unfortunately in April 2017 I had to file a claim for my 2010 Allegro motorhome with Good Sam. All I can say is that the agent Katie Pitts was extremely courteous, professional and efficient. I am a USAA customer for 38 years and I didn't think other companies could/would compare to the outstanding service I received from Good Sam/National General insurance. I previously used Progressive and cancelled them because when I moved from Florida to North Carolina, Progressive transferred my policy to NC but reported to the state of Florida that had cancelled my policy instead stating that had moved and Progressive was still insuring me. I found this out when I went to the DMV to request a new... Read More

Today was the day I needed Good Sam Insurance to provide the emergency towing assistance that I signed up to receive. They totally FAILED to respond to my situation. I was left on the side of the road with my grand kids, daughter-in-law, and wife. Absolutely and totally unsatisfactory. Don't waste your money on Good Sam Insurance. They don't provide promised services when you call. I'm seriously considering talking to my attorney about this disaster. You can be assured that I will not renew my policy with Good (BAD) Sam.

Thank you all for putting in a review. I also received a quote and it sounded to good to be true. I had decided to go with them but the representative as been slow with closing the deal. So I have had plenty of time to research and talk to my regular agent to find out they are indeed to good to be true. Stay with what you know and don't give into greed about saving money on such a huge investment. Or it will be bigger than your are ready for.

I have had their ins since 1959, NGI has changed. They have people with cold hearts working now. I hit an elk in Oregon and I know the damage incurred, they are denying many parts of the damage claiming it old damage with no proof. I have photos and dates showing no damage. I asked for their proof in writing and they replied with a notice of cancellation. I contacted 15 shops in So CA and all off the record said NGI is the most difficult to deal with always denying this and that. They are all afraid to loose business by speaking out. They all told me that Bryan Hughes is the worst to work with. They all said AAA is the best. I am a full-timer and will need to go back to Illinois (out of... Read More

omg. we just insured with them on our new travel Coleman RV. It's been a month already having issues. They say our regular insurance is reporting we have an at fault accident which is not true. Our insurance says they do not show us with an at fault so premium went from $382/yr to over $700! They said if we send proof we aren't at fault it will drop to $434/yr if we pay the year in full up front. If not it's $512. We are still considered a risk so we no longer qualify for the $382 if they remove the at fault . I think we are going elsewhere after reading these comments about them. Thank God we haven't gave them but $77.00 so far!
