PetPremium offers highly customizable benefit limits. Customers can choose any figure from $2,500 to unlimited. The higher the annual payout the more the premium. PetPremium's Accident only and Total coverage will reimburse you your choice of 70%, 80%, or 90% of your actual veterinarian's invoice. The companies previous "level" policies reimburse after the deductible and specific item copayment is met according to the policy declarations page. PetPremium is bringing its policies in line with current industry reimbursement standards.

PetPremium offers three deductible levels to choose from: $100, $250, and $500. Choosing a lower deductible will translate to higher premiums. This is a solid deductible schedule, but not as flexible as some of the other companies we feature.

PetPremium has some of the cheapest coverage we have found for dogs and cats. However, this low price applies to its "level" policies that have rather low per incident caps. If you with to purchase coverage in line with the best plans you are going to be paying a premium price.

PetPremium sets a minimum age of 8 weeks for enrollment, but no upper limits for its Accident plan. All other plans have a maximum enrollment age for dogs at 12 and cats at 14. Costs associated with the diagnosis, treatment, or surgery for ligament or knee injuries that occur during the first 12 month policy period after enrollment are not covered. The waiting period for all other illnesses is 14 days, the common time frame of most pet insurance plans.

PetPremium allows you to download the claim form on their website and then email, fax, or mail it back to the company with applicable invoices. PetPremium's stated policy is to reimburse you within 30 days of the claim. Unlike some of our top companies, PetPremium does not feature the convenience of claims filling directly online or through mobile app, as well as direct deposit.
